How To Remove Flywheel/ Briggs and Stratton After Hitting Something with Blade 

Thank You for making this video. The key I bought is the wrong size, but I just went to China Supply and bought the wheel puller, and of course they do not have instructions on how to use it. I may need to buy a new rotor, as the magnets on the side with only two squares does not have much magnetic power left and repairman said I needed a new rotor. I bought a new spark plug and Ignition coil and had no spark. I noticed that My woodruff key now is 7/8 broken off and only a small silver part is noticeable. Good thing as a retired electrician I have tapping drill bits and tools needed to do what You did. ONE LAST THING: None of the bolts fit now, without drilling and tapping (is that normal for the sizes in the box) and when the YOKE thing is put on threads, the inner holes for the two bolts that hold the yoke in place do not line up, almost like I may have to drill out some space, but Your lawn mower is different than mine. 2006 11A-418A765183623 21 inch cut made in USA B&S Engine. Yea I actually did use a black one on the flywheel nut... Technically u should... But sometimes I get lazy so I just used a regular socket on the smaller bolts since they come loose pretty easy... I've never had one break 😎

Barring N0T having a "Tap & Die Set"..... utilizing a couple 1/4" -20 NC self tapping bolts will put threads in the puller holes.

nice job man much appreciated, can I ask a stupid question, I thought when you used a impact driver you had to use the black impact sockets? ,thinking of buying one they look dead handy

Be careful when using a flywheel puller not to tighten the bolts down too far. Unfortunately I did that and one of the bolts busted through to the other side! I didn't know if it was okay to use a flywheel with a bolt-sized hole in it, so I went out and bought another one off Craigslist. $35 mistake, lol. Oh well, live and learn!

What if you hit a stump and your shaft now turns only by hand hard 2/3 of radius and appears to be somewhat bent? Can that be replaced as easily as the fly wheel?

Always Remove The spark plug boot from the plug while working on the engine.

Yea they just need a few threads to get enough bite... I've made way more than $35 mistakes! Lol..

2 pry bars or large screwdriver and a brass hammer much easier

Do NOT expect yours to be removed that easily.

You forgot to put the flywheel nut then the puller

Don't yap like that, you're begging to break the tap. Half a turn then reverse to clear the thread and use lubrication on the tap.
