hi Robert! is it a way you can tighten the instrument panel where its speedometer with out remove the whole headlight assembly. i have a 2012 yamaha r6. Much appreciated and thank you very much Robert!!!!
No, you would have to remove the entire front to gain access to the mounting screws that hold the cluster in place. If you think your cluster is loose, its not. It's meant to have play to help it absorb vibrations....there are rubber grommets that are between the cluster and the mounting bracket which causes the cluster to look/feel loose. I too thought mine were loose but after trying to tighten the screws, it was still "loose". It was designed this way, no need to worry!!! Keep riding and enjoy the bike! :cheers -Robert
I like where you've got the HID's mounted. Is it the same on both sides? What tape did you use to secure them? Right now mine are sitting behind my mid/lower fairing. Many thanks for this vid..
I have a '12 and just ordered body kit (I believe Chinese) but I noticed the headlight cowls are actually separate. The middle part is white, but I'm hoping I can separate my current blue cowls, and attach the new ones until the black middle part. Bit confusing but hopefully you could follow that :D
Rogent X I believe the headlight cowls are one piece. If I remember correctly, the center “nose” section can be removed from the cowls. I wish I could be of more help but I no longer have my R6
The BuzzedMTB Just after I saw this video I came across another one where although he skipped few parts, I could see he removed the trim I was wondering about. Sucks you no longer have it, but I ty for the quick response for a video you made awhile back ago.
@@tellerx5487 oh dang I just now seeing this question after a year, so sorry on late reply. No I end up just buying used ones from someone but kept the Chinese ones as back ups
Hi robert iv had a accident on my 2011 r6 im having trouble on what parts i need the damaged is to the front of the bike rite down to the the headlight bracket any idea of what list of parts im going to need. Need help thanks
+Nazim Uddin There's no way for me to know exactly what you'll need. My best recommendation would be to take the bike to a shop and ask them to do an insurance repair estimate (typically between $50-$80). They should be able to provide you with a list of what needs to be replaced, they'll also check the frame and forks for any damage. Then, you can hop on to any website that sells OEM parts and price out what you need. This is how I go about it when I have any type of accident/incident with my bike. Hope this is of some help. Best of luck!
Yes, can't seem to find the little whole in de cowl.. The headlight assembly has the little whole on it, but there's nothing to connect.. Which I find very strange..
My windscreen screws won't come out.. I think the back piece is spinning when I try to unscrew it.. can I still take off the cowl without taking off the windscreen?
Robert - BlueRebel thanks bro but how can I get back there to remove them? I can remove the ones closest to the mirror but I can't reach the lower ones.. any advice?
Hey man I really need your help I have a 09 yamaha r6 and my sister pushed it In the garage and it fell I cracked the back fair fairing and I'm going to replace that. But I really need help with the front fairing stay 1. The piece that holds the mirrors and gage in place it looks super easy but I don't want to mess anything up with the gage. I hope u can make a video if u have time. Thanks again buddy. @robert- bluerebel
That's really strange. If I remove all the screws BUT that one....the cowl and headlight assembly will NOT pull apart. I've never had the issue youre having...I dont know what to say, lol.
If you're talking about the black piece that covers the wires on both sides..... You do not need it in order for the headlight to work. Double check your connections and make sure you have the key turned to acc or have the bike on. Let us know how it goes.
