Glad to hear it was helpful :) I even have a video for how to remove it if the connector breaks. I have a bunch of T1N sprinter videos and more coming out every week :) I'm trying to get to 1000 subscribers so I can start getting paid cuz youtube keeps upping the requirements. So yeah I know it gets old but please subscribe for more videos :)
Thanks for making a vid about such a small detail, I did not want to break this thing trying to take off the headlight.. just never know what kind of trick the engineers will put in to make it harder to work on for us simple folk 😂. Thank you
Thanks for this video. Despite having broken that cross piece at the end on one of my connectors, I managed to get the connector off (piece was hanging on on one end and a pair of needlenose and some leverage got it done).
Me too bud. I use a right angle pick now. I made a video on how to remove a broken headlight connector. That is the method I start with now, in order to avoid breaking that plastic tab.
Happy to help. Glad you didn't break it. As a note to my other viewers, I do not recommend this method anymore bc it can break the tab too easily (Especially in vehicles from warmer climates where plastics can be more brittle). There is an alternative method using a right angle pic if you search my channel.
DO NOT USE THIS METHOD YOU WILL SNAP OFF THAT TINY PIECE DESTROYING THE CLIP. The real way to do this is simply push up on that piece from the OUTSIDE its very gentle takes no force instead of pulling from the inside. Now I've got a new problem. If this happens to anyone you can take two very slim flat head screw drivers and put them under the remaining tabs and push up again. Do not listen to this guy.
Sorry to hear, damn. I said to be gentle! I broke one of mine too. But i pried too hard and it was already compromised. Can you better describe your method, please? I don't think i understand
@@AncapistanVan Nothing against you man, your video was the first that popped up when I search "2006 sprinter head light removal" and I know you were just trying to help. I just didn't want anyone to snap the piece like I did. The real way to use this clip is to push on the same small tab you are pushing on from the inside. But instead of pushing or pulling from the inside you simply push in and up from the outside, as if you were squishing this piece between two fingers. Let me know if that description makes sense.
@@runningoffinstinct oh I see, so you are just pushing on the inside of that bar that I am manipulating with the leatherman. That's a good idea. Maybe I will have to make another
@@AncapistanVan No I realize now that the wording may have been a little confusing. I was stating that YOU are pushing/manipulating from the inside. The correct way is to push from the outside, and up at the same time.
