You are right, I used to be able to just reach in and twist to replace headlight bulbs. I guess just like everything else in the world (got more complicated by the day).
@@bigbullhitches2396 I didn't have the time to research LED's because unfortunately I needed to be up and running with a working light asap, but assuming the side replaced a while a go is going to fail here soon based on past performance, the LED's are in my future, the stock bulbs are not exactly cheap, so a long lasting LED would have a number of benefits. In addition to the short life, they always seem to fail at the most inopportune moment when I'm on a long journey and it's not an easy 2 minute fix on the side of the road. Of course you can always have it done at the dealership, like I did once because I was in for a service anyway, in which case they can break all the radiator grill clips for you and say nothing :) so you only notice it much later when you see the grill is loose and they can lie to you and say the only remedy is a new grill :(
Question. If your just replacing the bulb, could one just stick their hand through that access hole and pull the old bulb out the back of the headlight assembly?
U can push that lever and and pull the headlight out and replace the bulbs bc u don't have to take the grill off this guy is just showing what u could do we push that lever and change the light bulbs as I'm writing this
Bruh... couldn't figure out how to unclip the light mount into the housing... this guy struggles with it for at least a minute, then flashes "you need a small flathead screwdriver" then cuts to next scene with entire headlight assembly out.... you kinda glanced over and important step....
@Mike Purcell sorry about not being able to show that part. Are you talking about the harness that connects the entire headlight assembly to the truck? If so, yes you need a small flat head screw driver to pry up a plastic tab to unplug that harness.
@@Edwardsjourney yeah I noticed that after I got everything out lol. Oh well I'll buy a longer extension for next time. Thanks for the input though. Makes me miss my old 95 dodge lol. Changing the headlights in it was so quick and simple lol.
@Nicardo Dixon-parrish The rest? Do you mean how to install the headlight? Maybe you are looking for this video where I installed a much brighter LED light bulb: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-CJf9ycUd_ds.html
@@DIYGEEKTEXAS what i meant was as far as the bulbs it self..... a notification came on about my ‘’front right blinker light being out’’ but when you check it its still working i thought maybe you was going to show where the blinker light part is because all i have is 2 bulbs in the housing unit 🤦♂️
@Justin Petsinis you are right, I will make that adjustment, I am new to Ads (just passed 1000 subscribers), not sure what is going on yet. But your comment helps. Thanks
Omg…what a pain in the ass 🤷🏼♂️🤦♂️. Great how to video!! I have a 15 Ram Limited with projector headlights…local mechanic will replace them with LED’s for me.
