I used the #1 mix to remove a big old ink stain, it removed 90% of the stain wich is remarklable itself! I rinsed the mix and applied sanitizer to the rest of the stain , the ink stain is completely gone! Great tips, thank you!
My mom just stained her new dress with a blue ink pen and we immediate searched YT for how to remove it. Glad we watched your video first. We used the hairspray and it came off immediately! We were amazed with the results. Thank you for your video 🖤
I was so excited to see you use a can of hairspray. The hairspray is the best one that you will find. That's from 40 years of being in the restaurant business and waitresses use the hairspray so it does not ruin the uniform tops but does remove the ink stains from their uniforms so most of them back in the day used aqua net I'm sure you're familiar with aquanet
I tried the first one guys and it works...but one advice ..u better use a white toothpaste not a colourful one cauz it's gonna take more time to remove the colour from ur clothes...i'm saying that cauz i used a green toothpaste in that mix and put it on my white T-shirt and it took me some extra time to remove it
I had treated myself to a luxurious business jacket for work. First day of wearing the new polyester, I came home to discover blue ballpen ink all over the front! Heartbroken, I took it to the dry cleaners and left it there for a year! They had called to tell me there was no way to get that out without the ink spreading and I couldn't bear to look at it. A year later (today), I finally decided to face it and picked the jacket up from the cleaners. Long story short, within 5 minutes of getting home and finding your video on RU-vid, my jacket is 80% BETTER. Mind blown! I am still working on it, feeling pretty confident this is the fix. But had to stop for a moment to THANK YOU!!!! A year and 5 minutes later...and I have my new jacket back!
Thank you for the video. In my case, I just used a combination of hair spray first, I did let it seat there for about 15 minutes and then I used the mixture of laundry soap, baking soda, lemon and toothpaste, scrub the stains by hand rinsing in between scrubbing with hot water and the stains were gone.! Almost like magic. I would just recommend using gloves if you decide to scrub by hand to avoid damaging the fabric with the toothbrush and your hands.
OMG! You're an absolute life saver. Our dog got ahold of a black pen and chewed it up on our new $1,500 sofa. The hand sanitizer trick turned out to be a godsend and took out about 99% of the stains. Only two small dots wouldn't come up. THANK YOU!!!
Alcohol is an amazing solvent, it's actually one of the ingredients in ballpoint ink itself, used as a carrier solvent so the ink can be smoothly applied and dry quickly. I was able to clear my ink stain in the past with just 99% isopropyl alcohol, but I always have that on hand and I wasn't in a pinch. Had to soak the stain for a bit in the alcohol so that it would lift, and then again to get the remainders . Thanks for testing out these other methods! Would've never thought to try toothpaste and lemon mix, but that also worked so well!
I used LA's Totally Awesome, which I bought at the dollar store. It got the big ballpoint ink stain out of my nursing scrub top. I sprayed it on then rinsed it out with warm water. 👌💖
Ink removal method one is incredible!! It worked even better when I toothbrush scrubbed with a towel underneath. The ink transferred onto the toweling.
The first one was my choice. It removed it completely. There was residue with the others. Number 1 was the only one that removed it completely in one go. I don’t want to take so long to remove the stain.
Tried option one to remove black gel pen ink (got tossed in the washer) using white toothpaste and it works! Didn’t even need to dab away, just placed directly in the washer.
Had a horrible migraine and slept off on a pen. Whole thing leaked on my favourite bedsheet 😢. Will try getting it out tomorrow and will update this comment afterwards
I didn’t have hand sanitizer or hairspray, but I had vodka!🤣 The vodka worked great. I did scrub a bit with the cotton ball. I had my finger behind because it was a small stain in a pocket, and I was afraid to place it on my countertop. It bled through and stained my finger but regular bar soap removed that.
Thank you for sharing. It helps people that don’t know. I’m pretty good getting any stain out. Even the yellow on antique vintage clothing. My son just got a big glob of ink on his cream pants and I used hairsprays first and added 91% rubbing alcohol and the oxy powder and the spray awesome used my nozzle to get it in good but some fabric ms you can’t rub that hard.. but a few ideas to share..😊
Thanks so much! You saved my sofa that had a big ink spot. I used the hand sanitizer since it was readily available. After I laundered it the spot came out! 💕
I just had black ink get all over my new white shirt. I used hand sanitizer (I was at work) as a pre-treater, washed it when I got home with laundry soap and an oxy powder from DT that I dissolved in hot water before putting it in the washer. Most of it came out, but there was a bit left on the shirt. So, while it was still wet, I put some laundry detergent directly on it and went town, scrubbing it. The ink disappeared! I washed it again since it had laundry detergent on it and it came out perfectly.
I didn’t have hairspray or hand sanitizer because that stuffs poison but I had 151 proof alcohol. It worked amazing! Thanks.I had a stain in my bathroom sink as well and borax and 151proof alcohol got it out.
Literally bought a white shirt, wore it a day, fell asleep doing my corsswords, got ink everywhere, so thank you I will try these out and see if I can get my ink out. So bummed I can never wear white cause i always get them dirty lol
The cap came off permanent marker in the side pocket of my work pants and I didn't know. So the sanitizer trick is what finally got it all out. I soaked it in the hand sanitizer and let it sit for 15 mins with a paper towel underneath, I already noticed so much of it coming out. Then tossed it alone in the wash with a quick spray of Shout and on the Hot setting. I'm letting it air dry but it looks like most of it came out. Thanks!
Got my tank top stained while playing around with a ballpoint pen in the middle of the night this was a life saver i hope it comes out it was a rlly nice tank top too
Hair spray usually works very well on clothing for ballpoint ink. Spray with hair spray and scrub, then follow up with a hit of Spray N Wash, Zout or similar, and then pop into the washing machine. Usually all traces are gone when it comes out of the wash, but always check before putting it in the dryer--sometimes you might need to do a second application and wash cycle.
The first one worked in seconds! I made the mixture without the tooth paste and just added the toothpaste directly onto the shirt! After scrubbing I rinsed with water and it was completely gone!! ❤ 10/10 recommend!
I’m not a cleaning expert. However, I think that if you were to place a non import fabric or paper towels under the stained item, the ink would likely come out better. Allowing the ink to transfer out of the fabric, as opposed to trying to lift it with a cotton ball. The ink appears to tend to spread easily.
Regarding, stain samples 1-5, stain #1 what stain, that mix looked like it worked. Have you tried tooth paste (tooth plain, whitener) on white sneakers - dark/black scruff marks?
My mom would spray her uniform pockets with hairspray and launder it and and all the pet marks would come out of her uniforms and then when it got passed down to me that's what I used when I was a waitress
I had a pen in my fabrick pants and the stain wont go off, there was alot of pen showing outaide the pocket People can spot it quickly and idk how to get rid of it, i have given up, the oen stayed for 3 months now, can i still get rid of it?? If yes, how?
Did the Hairspray trick on a red shirt with black ink and a completely removed the stain without scrubbing. I just did a few applications with blotting and then washing.
I've used a aquanet for years now to get ink out. It can't be the good stuff, cheap works better for this! Thanks Andrea for trying out these great ideas for us!
I tried hand sanitizer and although it removed some of the ink, it mostly then spread it to the rest of the top, number 1 just made it all vanish in front of me
