A straight edge off the crank pulley is a great line up tool, the belt alignment between the power steering pump & crank is crucial point. Otherwise , if pump locks up so does the belt and the crank pulley will eat the belt when it jumps out of its groove.
Why am I having such a hard time getting this pulley back on. Are there Ford and Chevy puller/installer kits???? Wtf the as I tighten the nut the bolt going into the pulley (that’s bottomed out) loosens.
The bolt on the loner tool I got caves in the center hole of the pulley shaft. Why does it only happens to Me? Doing the exactly same thing with same tool and same car as in RU-vid videos and I'm the only one seeming to have problems!
OTC part # 4530 is the kit that we used. I sourced a longer installer screw with the correct thread pitch for both the installer bearing and pump. You can do the same by going to your local hardware store. I can't remember the thread pitch off the top of my head. Hope this helps! -Landan
