Been watching what you do brilliant ,I have Freelander 2 HSE 2009,how can you connect reverse cam to the factory sat Nov ,been told on that model all cables are already factory fitted just to be connected with additional parts?
And also, can the sub-woofer be upgraded? Can I upgrade only the speakers inside the enclosure? That will help in a clean upgrade. Thank you in advance for your advise.
When is the next episode, also which model android screen are you using? I've got the same car but no sat Nov, will all the wiring be tucked behind waiting to be installed?
Another good video. Thanks. Do you know if the wiring harness is fitted in cars that don’t have the screen? Mine has a cubby hole and I’m wondering if it’s possible to fit a screen without having to add the wiring loom. Cheers
Another great share. A question, is it possible to activate the two fakra inputs of the original satnav so that we can feed aux video? Is there an option in SDD?
I have done an upgrade/replacement of the stock unit with an android (unit with DSP), but only been able to have stereo outputs (left and right from the front) being sent across all the speakers. And the device is not sending out rear channels / 7,1 separately but using the front channel for rear and the rest of the speakers too. Plus, the connection goes through AUX. Can you check it too when you make the android installation video and advice?
Hi. I have a 2010 Freelander 2 TD4.e. Wondering if i can retrofit the sub bass unit in the spare footwell as mine don't have this like my friends model as I've only the base model. I've taken a look with removing the right hand real side panel but cant find any wire loom to supply said sub to the spare wheel well. Also was wondering if the sub thats fitted to higher models are a powered sub and theres only one bass speaker yet there's 4 wires going into the speaker connection. I have gone through all your videos on here and not found anything covering this. Any help would be great thanks.
Great vid 👍 Do you know if and how you can upgrade the stereo in a 2013+ facelift model? I have the SE model with the small screen and it sounds awful. I’ve tried to find an upgrade over the last year but with no joy? Thanks
You get today’s “Extreme Bravery Award” for electronic investigation! I hope it all goes back together again! I don’t have my Freelander anymore but upgrading the screen would have been a certain sale for me...it is one thing that truly dates the car. Onward to to reinstallation then...will the new screen be plug and play or is it a big night on the soldering iron! 😰😰😰😰😀😀😀😀Richard
Wondering the same as my radio seems bust and don’t fancy buying an old model unless necessary. It is also without a navigation screen. Have you seen any newer navigation screen or radios online that will plug and play? Recommendations welcome 🎉
@@kevinratcliffe9595Hello Kevin….at Goodwood this year, I saw the Alpine Stand with many examples of screen/radio/navigation displays that can be fitted to older cars. The Freelander 2 was fitted with an Alpine system but not badged as such and it was n outstanding radio in the HSE with multiple speakers. To replace yours, I would contact Alpine and see what options they have to fit. The installation on their Stand demonstration their system was very impressive.🙂🙂
This is not the sort of thing you would want to do if you only had one car ! I cant believe there are so many locking device clips on these things, not something I will be doing I hope, I have never ever turned the radio on in mine yet. Stay safe ! Chris B.
