Brilliant, simple, effective. I took out 14 posts in about a half hour, and all my prior efforts yielded nothing but lower back pain. Just do what the nice man says and your posts will be gone.

I can't believe I did this and it worked. Not that I had any expectation of shenanigans on the part of Mr. Watson, but that it worked for a former city boy like me. The trick is to make sure the bar of the clamp is up against the knob on the bar and, I find, tilted slightly inward. Thank you, thank you!

Wow! That worked like a charm! Thanks for this. Only took me 15 min to pull 7 posts!

I have been trying to get my T-bars out of the ground for two years. I even tried a car jack and that didn't work. Your method worked like a charm and I was able to do it with only 1 2x4. Thanks for sharing!

Found this by mistake. Glad I made the mistake. Great thinking. One awesome level with simple tools and materials. My previously injured back is very grateful. Adding music to videos is almost always anoying as hell but Johnny Cash rules..

Great method. Thank you. I found that for a post buried 3 feet in dry hard ground requiring 2 people to lift, that having the clamp on the long side of the leaver causes it to grip into, rather than tend to move away from, the ridges.

This is great if you don't have tools, but I use a pipe wrench at the bottom of the post and put a floor jack on a board under the pipe wrench and simply jack it out of the ground. Very easy on the back, legs, body! I'm just a girl :-)

Thanks a bunch mate! I have about 30 of these I have to pull, and the wiggle and tug method was getting tedious. Anything is made easier with just a bit of leverage. Thanks!

will this damage the roots if the post is in too deep? and then kill the tree or is it un affected or it can repair itself
@GoRaWa1

I can't warranty anything, but most trees can tolerate a few roots being cut. If they are really caught in big roots, this method probably won't work. In those cases, I used a jack, or maybe it is best to just cut them off well below ground using a metal saw or angle grinder with metal cutting blade.

When I say "cut them off," I am referring to the metal stakes. I have cut them well below ground to prevent future issues.

If that is all you have--then it will have to do I guess.......next time use a ROUND object--i.e. car rim--use it as a fulcrum--and PULL down--easier on the back. It's better to pull down than push up. Just sayin--no disrespect intended.
