pulling a t-post out of the ground is quite difficult if you don't know this trick. I will show you how to easily remove a t-post from the ground using the t-post driver.
That’s because it’s an excellent video! Straight to the point (aside from a moment of humor in the beginning, which is cool) and extremely helpful information. I found this while searching for tips on removing U-channel posts because I have about 2 dozen that need to come out at the back of my new house. I’m going to try this technique, but I think it will likely work very well.
Fantastic video! I am a barely 5', 90 lb, 65 year old woman and I had the t-post out in like ten seconds! This is incredible and I am so grateful. I still have about 20 left to do and it's so nice to not be dreading this task. You, sir, are going to heaven! Again, thank you!
Spent 1 hr getting 1 of 10 tposts out…Spent 4 mins watching your video and chuckling at how the first half was me…Spent 10 minutes getting the last 9 of 10 posts. Thank you! I have dense clay soil so I had to ratchet it out tooth by tooth but eventually they’d come out. At first I didn’t think it was working, but it’s just a tiny bit at a time at first. Beats digging it out!
I rarely comment on videos to thank the video creator for their video, but here I am! Thank you from the bottom of my heart! You sir, are a gentleman and a scholar!😉
I’m tryin’ this tomorrow! I need to pull out about 8 t posts. In a million years I would not have thought of this alternate use of the driver. Thank you!
as a young man, i remember climbing up onto a ladder and using a standard hammer to ever so slowly drive the t-post into the ground. took forever and even wore out my young 23 year old self. even before learning it can help remove posts, the t-post driver was 1 of my favorite hand tools. with this new intel, i rank it at the top. thanks a bunch!
Thank you for this, smarter, way to work. I tried the hard way before I watched your vid. I don’t have the post driver, so I tried a 2x4. It worked, but the teeth just dig into it and I can’t pull too many posts with it. I found a piece of pipe and it worked great. I put the 2x4 under it, and I just kept working under one tooth then the next.
I’m guessing this is some sort of old farmer’s trick for this, but I had no idea and got out the shovel after pulling the first t post. So THANK YOU for sharing this. I did a quick search in case there was some sort of tip and of course Google tried to show me special tools I don’t have. But I just found this video and had to comment after pulling 10 posts in minutes, thanks to you. Much appreciated
I’m a 67 year old female and just used this method to pull out 9 ten ft T posts that had been put in by a machine. It took a bit more work than this video shows, but it works! Amazing! Thank you.
This is brilliant! I'm so glad my wife found this, lol. Thank you very much for the video. I plan to use this when I have to pull up some posts in the next few weeks. God be with you out there, everybody. ✝️ :)
I installed a fence at my mother in laws.. saw a video for making it way better.. The Lord brought me to your video because I need to remove what I previously did.. my back would not have appreciated the blooper clip, lol! TY!
This really, really works. Amazing. Before I found your video, I was beating the crap out of the t post with a sledge hammer & still wasn't working. Thank you. Thank you!
This is amazing and a total life saver! I have been fighting the same T post for days and have tried everything I could think of! Thank you so much for posting this video!
I needed that tip right now. I came into the house to see if there was a video that could help me. Really great it uses the driver, and not some other piece of equipment. Thanks so much.
I'm 65 and I just learned about it today using to two-by-fours and a C-clamp. I like your idea better. But not all of us have the driver tool. Thanks pretty video bro
I was today years old when I learned how to remove a post with the post pounder. That's amazing and I'm surprised I've never seen this before! As soon as it stops raining, I've got to go try this on a post.
My husband and I have rocked one t post back and forth for two days. The other 5 came up easily. I found your video and in less than 30 seconds he had it out of the ground!! Thanks!!
I used this method earlier today, but I didn't have a post driver so I improvised and used crow bar and it worked great. no muss, no fuss. Great content thanks...
Thank you so much for this brilliant video, I was looking at a fence post puller on line, literally as I was getting ready to leave for the farm store, you saved me some money and a ot of time!!!
Thank you for showing this and thank you for recording this video my oldest brother taught me the law of leverage is so important work smarter not harder.
Man that was absolutely brilliant! Thank you so much! I love learning new tricks like this! I was a skeptical because our ground is red clay and like concrete due to no rain but I wet the ground around the post and they cut that hard ground like a hot knife through butter! You freakin rock bro!
Thank-you for this video! Worked like a charm. Won't go into detail on the other methods I tried but let's just say I spent way too long on them. This is now my default method.
Gotta love a man who actually does real work in flip flops.... I tore an old barn down a couple years ago..... from the metal roof all the way to the ground piece by piece IN FLIP FLOPS by myself
A huge thanks for that brilliant maneuver and showing how it’s done. I’m about to have to remove three t-posts and was wondering how, and bam!, you showed the way. Very much appreciated.
Getting ready to cut down the garden, and next year we’re going to expand to my weekend project this week was going to be taking them out. If I get home and it’s this easy to get them out, it’s went from my weekend project to my afternoon project!
I had a hard time watching the video thinking about working in conditions like that in flip flops. That being said this is a very good method that I will use in the future.
Dam - REALLY❗ My goodness, thank you so ! I've certainly spent many days over the years diggin' and wrestlin' posts in order to move them, as I am again today..... Although I'm sixty now and I do get tired out, need to pause and ponder the process more now, than prior decades.... I've never been at the point to even think of "googling" for helpful wisdom before in regard to post removal, but I sure am thankful for my little lightbulb moment today. I am very appreciative!!! Your sensible approach is working well for me, thank you ! I have to say I've been giggling and shaking my head at myself as I've been making progress☺️🤣🙄
I had 2 Tposts that I needed moved and I don't have the post driver so I used a small square point shovel when used upside down and the same technique you showed and it totally worked. Thanks!
That’s an awesome use of physics. I am about to go pull some T posts. I’ve struggled before myself. This time I planned to use a farm jack with a chain. Decided to search youtube and now have an even BETTER idea! Thank you for posting this!
Thank you for the excellent idea! I don’t have a t-post drive, but I used a piece of 4x4 wood instead. It worked in two seconds. I am a short woman in her 50s.
