Tip from a lifelong line cook: WD-40 is a great option for well-set stains. Just dab it on the stain and put a rag, some paper towels, or baking soda on either side until the stain is transferred. Then continue with the dish soap method and voila! Stain gone. I’ve used this method to remove oil/grease stains that were a year or more old and it has worked every time.
Would this work with vape oil liquid? Kinda annoyed got a couple of brand new shirts but vape oil got on them and now can’t wear them. Btw I love the vibe in this video!
I had a cooking oil stain like her husband's that I did not take action on until it was dried. I did like she said and it did take out about 85-90% of the stain out of a polo shirt. The next time I washed it I used a pre-spot product called "LA's Totally Awesome Oxygen Power", which took the rest of it out 100%. Very informative video.
Thank you so much! I was told it's impossible to clean oil stains ever since I was a child, so I was devastated when I accidently got oil stains on my favorite dress. But you helped me a lot. thank you
for those hard stubborn oil stains that have been there for a while... Fill your bath with only hot water around half full, then pour half a bottle of Lestoil. Then put rubber gloves and spin the clothing around for at least two minute and rubb the stains with a spong brush. Let it soak all night. Then throw the clothing in the washer and wash it on the Hot cycle with extra rince. If there are still oil stains you might want to repeat this process until it's gone. Voila and good luck !
Am somali I live in Somalia now I removed my sweater and we are in the cold season I cnt afford to buy a new I have to get off this shit shit oil tomorrow but unfortunately we dont have these washing products other than soap, detergent and shampoo also liquid bleach
the problem is that once you start scrubbing it with detergent (etc) you can no longer see the stain. So you have no idea if it's working or not. You basically have to wash the item wait till it dries, then repeat the whole process. Or is there a better way?
Just got the cutest top last week, and got a big splash of cooking oil and butter on my shirt. It dried on my shirt for about 5 days and I did what you said, and there are NO MORE STAINS!! Thank you so much❤️
Im a mechanic and obviously around oil and grease constanly all the time. I have a separate clothes basket for my oil stained shirts and jesns and I accidentally put my favourite shirt in it with the oil stained clothes. How could i not notice?!! It sat for a couple days and of course the oil had to stick to the white parts of the shirt but your video helped!!!
Oh no! so sorry to hear about your shirt but I'm glad my video helped! someone also shared their expertise in oil stains maybe it can help you too : Tip from a lifelong line cook: WD-40 is a great option for well-set stains. Noooo, do not use soap on the dried oil stains! Use sunflower or olive oil to make the stain fresh again. Then use the salt. I have to admit that I prefer to simply buy a new shirt, though. Life is short and I cannot be bothered. ;-D
@@lailaatta7358 Yes, actually you are right. Cleaning a shirt, especially when only using biogdegradable substances, is cheaper and much more sustainable, too. I will do better in the future, I promise.
Both of these solutions really worked. I am very impressed. Thanks so much. I just bought a brand new pair of shorts and got can smoked oyster oil on them. I used spray and wash on them and it didn’t work at all. I did your second solution and they are like new again.
You need to find a boyfriend who doesn't dribble his spaghetti down his shirt , if not ..call me . I will take you away from your Cinderella tasks. Show you waterfalls of ice while holding you warmly, take you on a balloon ride and lift you in my arms so you are the closest to the Sun and stars, dive into pure clear oceans and discover things beautiful and unknown and carry a spare air bottle to keep you safe, whisper to you if you ever get your skirt caught in an embarrassing position, dance with you like you are an angel in my arms with wings of feathers so light on your feet, share a rock to sit on at midnight on a beach with the tide wishing and washing any troubles away, being a few days apart but knowing our hearts are yearning and beating in tune. I have more tee shirts than you could ever need to work over. I make amazing spaghetti as well. ........Two accidental adults could make a right !
I was eating pasta with meatballs one day and a meatball fell on my pants, it always looks like I can't hold my piss in and it's uncomfortable when people notice it
Just got a new sweater and thought it wasnjust water and the next day I got laundry I saw it was still there and I was like “F*#k” but thanks. I am trying to see if it works rn. Cross your fingers 🤞🏽
Been using dishwashing liquid for years. A couple drops on the stain, scrub against your hands, let it sit for an hour and wash regular in machine. Dawn is my choice to clean up oil splatter on clothes. Good luck.
I see comments for cooking oil stains but what about the oil from a wheelchair? It's really black and my carpet is a light tan color. I don't want to just rub it into the padding and have it surface again as it has before when we used a carpet cleaning machine. Any comment?
hey its me again back 2 c the method again, cuz, geuss what, yes, i did stain my clothes again, now geuss again what, I GOT THE VERY SAME FEAKING SHORT stained again, plus a T.
do you think that if you put more oil over the dry oil stains and did the removal process for fresh oils stains it would all go away? i was just curious cause i really liked this hoodie EDIT: i just washed it a whole bunch of times, now the hoodie faded. I wear it only in the house now. ALSO i wish i tried following the tutorial
That is a verrrryyy interesting question. And I have no idea if it would work or not😂 Maybe try the dry stain removal method first (in the second part of the video) and see how that works out for you.
I used dishing soap and baby powder and the washed in hot water then I put it in washing machine but the “salt” is still a bit there is it just to do like in ur video?
One of my shorts got covered in massage oil, and when I say covered I mean like half the shirt so spot treating will be very time consuming. Any ideas like maybe soak it in dish soap and water
What do u do to a lip gloss stain it stained my white bedding and it won’t come off !!! Worse the gloss had a reddish or pink reddish color to it so it looks bad
I spilt oil all over my Fjallraven kanken! I’m so bummed! Hopefully this is will work!! I’m letting it sit overnight - do you suggest spraying it before you wash?
It’s okay! Hopefully it’s reversible! Before spraying it with water I would brush the area with detergent to make sure the stain is gone. Good luck and let me know how it goes!
