Hi Adam , to replace the Windscreen and index stalk you 1st need to remove the clock spring . If you are able to keep the angle of it (try using electrical tape to keep it at the same angle) there's the chance that you won't need to calibrate the steering angle. However I wouldn't try this without having a working VCDS to calibrate it if needed.

@@theshed8750 Cheers. figured out My problem after. When I checked the steering angle It was out by 360 deg. The clock spring had been turned 1rev when the wheel was off.
