If only you were in Georgia! I've been struggling for 3 days to remove a red crystal lite disaster ALL over the upstairs hallway, and the iron trick worked! THANK YOU!
I know this is old video but I need professional advice on removing fiberglass from carpet my sons wall was opened up and idiot contractor took insulation out of the walls handed it out of window and put a fan in the room thinking it would suck out fiberglass and blow it out the window. I’ve read conflicting info on if I should wet or not. Have bissell pro heat x2 expert series and also a Hoover spin brush steam cleaner. Professional cleaners came and said since their truck mount wand didn’t have any brushes it would only make it worse please help my son has been banned from his room for over a month!
This may work, but I will pass on using the Hot Iron method. As an amateur at taking stains out, i want to do something allot less volatile. thanks for the video.
That iron treatment with a towel has been used by pros for many years and it does work. The things to watch out for is to be sure the towel is at least moderately wet. Wet the towel and just gently ring it out. Second don't leave the iron in place very long and check frequently for removal. Often 1 or 2 minutes will do the trick or you will see significant improvement by then. Third, don't crank the iron all the way up. The actual directions say to turn the iron on the LOWEST setting to produce steam. Those types of stains almost never respond to just a stain remover w/o heat unless it's a new stain that hasn't been touched by anyone. Many pros use a steamer of some type, mostly the Wagner wallpaper steam rather than a hot iron. With the wallpaper steamer the towel is not needed since it won't melt or harm the fibers unless you leave it on too long which may cause damage to carpet backing. Last tip, if that stain doesn't show complete removal in a few minutes, it may be permanent or it may not be what you think it is. Getting too aggressive with those types of stain removals can remove color or damage the carpet. I generally stop after about 5 minutes or less if no improvement is being seen. I've been using food dye removers almost since they were invented I think so take this for what it's worth. NEVER promise complete removal on these types stains and absolutely DO NOT go too far with it. You will know in a few minutes if that stain is responding or not. I've seen some stains remove w/o heat, but that is very rare. I've seen others completely remove in 1 or 2 minutes. You lift the towel and it's gone. I love it when that happens.
Jacob, a little information in the hands of a less experienced consumer and you'll have a damaged carpet. Why do so many carpet cleaners think that if they teach customers how to do it themselves they will be respected as truly helping them and saving them money. It only takes one time where someone didn't quite understand how long to leave the towel or how many times they can repeat the process before they remove more than the unwanted dye. (carpet color loss) You didn't explain how some terry towels are not 100% cotton and will melt onto the iron. Share a demo how you do it but not how your customer does it.
Not only that, but allsolve needs to be professionally extracted out of the carpet or it will brake down the the glue holding the carpet fibers and you will end up with a hole in your carpet. This is not for customer use!
Dave could I use nail polish remover acetone and the same procedure with the iron and steam ? The nail polish remover says not to put this near heat ect
Why in the world would you show us how to get a yellow stain up when we came to your video for nail Polish removal. It's even in your misleading title. We spent an hour treating red nail Polish with your technique for removing a red stain before we saw the rest of the video where you used a damn commercial solvant for the nail polish.
There are several components to starting up a cleaning business. One plan I discovered which successfully combines these is the Gabs Cleaner Blueprint (check it out on google) definately the most incredible guide that I have ever seen. Check out all the amazing information.
