I use this product on any car with light scratches or even some quite bad ones! Been detailing for about 2 years and have used this the past 4-5 months and I'm still amazed every time I use this product! I've used it to do spot work or even every single panel of a neglected citron c3 banner and it works excellently every time! PRO TIP!! water this stuff down a bit and do 2-3 extra passes with the panel sprayed with water, this adds a bit of slip and gives a less hazy finish 😎

From my point of view this stuff works. It is good for someone who wants to minimise some scratches on their car without buying lots of equipment. Using this and the renovator at a cost of probably less than £20 you will be surprised how well it works.

I had deep bird poo scratches in my black paint from the previous owner. I used Autoglanz Supernova to try mask it, to little effect. Thought I'd try Scholl S20 with a hex foam applicator pad and a bit of elbow grease. 2-3 sets of around 3 minutes and slowly removed it! It's now 90% removed and blown away with the results. I've also used the same method on dire headlights and again, finishes down to a great result. You obviously can't do a whole car, but with the right compound, you can get out those really annoying isolated scratches.

Thanks John for this test. To fix light scratches by hand I use the Renov7 compound by Alchimy7 (french brand) with a similar foam pad. It works very well. I used it also on piano black elements of the car and it fixed swirls in a very few minutes of hand polishing. If you have the opportunity, give it a try 😉

Great demo of Fereclas 'retail packaged product', it's great for that odd scratch where you don't want to get out the polisher. I'v been using these for a few years now.

Scholl S0 is probably the most cutting compound you can get. It probably works good when polishing by hand. Or Scholl S2 if S0 cuts too much. You can use the type you have in the video for the harder scratches and for example S0 or S2 for the rest of the car.

legend :) its actually ok.. the problem is the scratch remover has to be ultra agressive to be able to remove clear by hand in an efficent way. so I think its probably not possible to make that agressive hand paste also provide the final gloss finish.. at least I dont know of anything that you can use by hand that does the lot. Its a viable product though but for sure a machine polisher is the best option.

I’ve used this with a normal sponge applicator under a door handle that was scratched. I thought the white pad was bloody hard, even when wet. Plus wouldn’t fit under the handle anyway. As you say, hard work but did the trick. But followed with Srp and wax after

Great video... I still think working "by hand" and be torture. Love my DA polisher.

I used g3 normal compound on all types of clear coat mostly the softer ones on the Japanese and Korean vehicles with good results, however it's more a auto body compound though. If you can test it some time ( there's g6 for marine clears as well.)

For removing scratches by hand, I found that Meguiars Scratch X 2.0 works well.

Thanks (again) for this, ive got some scratches i have tried to get to to on some hard-to-reach places where a d a is unsuitable I bought this paste and it should be strong enough for what I need. I'm guessing you don't really need the paint renovator but could use something else in your collection such as ultimate compound or ultimate polish maybe autoglym super resin polish? Haven't started yet as it's raining but want to make sure I've got everything I need

Hi mate, big fan of the channel and love detailing. Fairly confident using my DAS6pro DA. Just having a bit of trouble getting into small areas. Areas like A and B pillars. I have an old 1983 vw golf with faded paint. Big panels are coming up nice but even with a 3 inch pad I can't get in to the small boot pillars due to the curved panels. What would you recommend? Thinking hand polish but unsure if it swill cut back enough ? Keep up with the great content. Thanks in advance. 👍

cheap option could be the shinemate ep805 kit with the 1-2 inch spot pads on teh extention bar andy.

Which polish do you think will give a more suitable and better glossy finish without hardly any holograms if applying by hand foam applicator working it for a little? It is for light-scratch removal that doesn't have any fillers and glaze? Maybe Sonax perfect finsih? Sonax 03-06? or Koch M3.02? I don't know
@ForensicDetailing
@ForensicDetailing 2 года назад
no you wont remove defects with PF or M3 etc by hand... not even h9 or maxcut. you will need to use something like this and refine it out.. or ideally mate get a machine polisiher.
@r.k862

@@ForensicDetailing thanks Jon no I don't think I'll remove it completely but at least make it less noticeable. Which product would you still suggest i would try by using hand foam applicator?

If your having to resort to using this product, with the possibility of over doing it... then it best left to professionals or at best trying to look after the paint work... even though that's difficult when your pride and joy is parked up, for all manner of hands on.

Guide to correcting paintwork by hand: 1. Raise your arm 2. Extend your palm 3. Reach down into your pocket 4. Pull out your wallet 5. Chose one of your credits cards 6. ORDER A DAMN POLISHING MACHINE!!!44!!! or alternatively: 6. Pay a professional to do it for you Done. You're welcome. And I'm not even kidding here. I've tried this Farecla G3 scratch remover compound and the original Farecla foam pad set (white+black) - and they did nothing to any scratches I've tried them on. And I'm not talking about deep scratches here, just pretty superficial scratches like those at door handles and such. It's just a waste of time (well, on hard German cleat coat anyway), in my experience and opinion.

I have used the applicators with other polishing products but I found the white one flattened down and didn't return to its normal shape, not sure if its meant to do this but comparing it so a machine pad which retains its shape after use.

I made several groups of light surface scratches removing bird poo (before i knew better) and used maguires ultimate compound and had very pleasant results its quite aggressive but it did not dull the paint but it did leave micro marring havent tried a paint renovator... if you have realistic results in mind you can correct paintwork by hand
@IntegraDIY
@IntegraDIY 6 лет назад
Ricardo Carneiro only problem I see with ultimate compound, is that it’s a lot fillers in that compound... it leaves a very thin greasy finish.. it feels soft and smooth, but after a couple weeks, the scratch filler comes off and the scratches reappear.. I think ultra cut compound (m105) actually cuts the scratches out and leaves a nice finish..
@ricardocarneiro7797

Integra DIY I did not know ultimate compound had fillers i thought it just had cutting compounds... thanks for letting me know I will look out for the scratches come back now...

Is part of the "hard work" here perhaps down to a sub-par finishing compound? Perhaps AG Paint Renovator followed by SRP would work better?
@forensicunplugged4295
@forensicunplugged4295 5 лет назад
its just the nature of the beast really correcting clearcoat by hand is always gonna be hard work, its only really do-able in small areas. Im not sure if the AG one is any better or worse.. these products have a place but really your better off investing in a machine polisher because generally thats gonna give you so much capability. but not all will want a polisher so its an option.

Yep got a machine, this is really ideal in places you cant use a da or a deep collection of scratches on medium hardness paint

Would this product remove light and heavy swirl marks? As I only have a few panels with swirls and I’m thinking I could just do them by hand
@ForensicDetailing
@ForensicDetailing 5 лет назад
yes.. but to use this on an entire panel to remove swirls is a major undertaking.. some serious hard work.. and then you got to take the haze out with the renovator.. I would not even attempt it DS... use like a glaze hand polish.. Or get the Argos DA and a nice single stage polish like sonax perfect finish...
@ds7300
@ds7300 5 лет назад
Cheers for the advice! I thought it wouldn’t be that easy tbh! if I were going to try a hand glaze polish what would you recommend? And with what applicator

I’ve heard the farecla scratch remover isn’t suitable for bmw paint what are your thoughts on that
@ForensicDetailing
@ForensicDetailing 6 лет назад
define what you mean by BMW paint max. it would imply all BMW's have the same clear coat product layed the same way. Pretty confident I could demo the product on any clear. obviously the harder the clear the more work it is to cut and the more work it is to refine (its actually refining it by hand which is the hard bit i think). One thing to empthasize is you would use this on targetted areas or individual scratches (at least i think) than trying to correct areas of panels. hard work for sure but does work and is viable for guys without machine polishers..
@Max-gb3ze
@Max-gb3ze 6 лет назад
Forensic Detailing Channel well I was just asking for your input as I saw another video and some people in the comments said it left clouds I’m imagining they didn’t use the paint renovator
@lnsdetailingmechanical5440

Ive done multiple BMW's mainly black and really there isnt no difference it all depends on marring and sometimes you can get away with only one or two passes and the scratches are totally gone and just need to be finished with a quality wax or polish. In other paint correction cases ive had to really work for my money and can get up around 5 to 10 passes before results are seen. I use a little piece of 0.3mm thick soft plastic and slowly and with no pressure i run the edge across the scratches and if it feel a stepping or catching feeling then theres a 95% chance them scratches are very deep in the clear coat and even with a wet rub you wont get them 100% out. Also my days of paint correction by hand are long gone im to old for that sh!t now lol although i do have to spot rub with a heavy cut before running all the panels with a lighter compound. Anyways keep up the good work and them cars shinny 😎 Lee from Australia 👍
@ForensicDetailing
@ForensicDetailing 6 лет назад
yer it was a good quesiton max.. Ive literally only tried it on the test panel which is kind of medium clear. I think it will work. like LNS says really its gonna vary for how deep you want to go.. the more you work the scratch remover paste the more haze you will need to refine out.

Without a machine I'd try using a glaze first and if it won't work then invest in a machine as you'll be with it for years

No disrespect to the products but I wouldn't use this, bit of a Halfords cheapo stuff in my eyes, packaging does nothing for me and not particularly appealing on the eye. Just my tuppence worth, others may say different. Great vlog to watch on a wet Sunday afternoon 👍👍

I dont think anyone with a machine polisher will use this Adam. So its not something thats gonna convert guys away from machine polishing. Its really for guys that dont have or want a machine polisher. but its not really cheapo stuff. Its just an abrasives paste thats coarse enough to be able to cut by hand.
