yours is the only video that did not confuse with different grit sand paper. I tried all the other methods but it created deeper scratches, I used sponge sander and my new gas hob that we unintentionally scrubbed and spoiled with multiple scratches in an effort to clean it well. I was so disheartened and stumbled upon your video and now am instead of replacing my sink trying to make it new. Thanks for that.
Thank you! You literally saved my life I was so worried!! I used the Pink Stuff to clean my stainless steel fridge and that was a huge mistake! It scratched my fridge. Please DON’T USE THAT on your appliances!! But anyways I found this on RU-vid and other video that told me to use 180,220,320,400,600 grit sand paper. That isn’t necessary that will make it worse!!! I tested it out all I did was use a fine sanding sponge it was $3.48 at Walmart and it was a miracle! Also I did buy the recommended Stainless Steel cleaner from spray-away but I found out that Vinager was the best in my case to clean and WOW it made it shine! I used that with a microfiber cloth!!! Don’t forget to go with the Grain that’s key!!! Thanks again!!
Fixed some of ours. Prior owner had all fairly new appliances but most really beat up. For really bad panels we ordered new parts - also an idea, costs more but not as much as a new appliance!
I just tried using the fine sanding block from Walmart on a stainless steel refrigerator. Thank goodness I only used it on a small area not the whole thing and it made it worse! Made even deeper scratches. Now what should I do?
@@traceygray4101 This is exactly why you have to be extra careful with youtube videos, especially with such little detail like this one. I'm looking through the comments for people who've actually tried it instead of the: Thank you, I need to try this, this is great! stupid shit
Did you wet sand? Funny I am also trying to repair magnet scratches. Never put magnet on stainless steel. The cheap magnets are often chipped and have sharp edges.
Listen if u are going to do this method 2 things. 1) circular motion is stupid. Period. 2l circular motion is stupid because the steel, just like wood, has an actual grain to it so you want to follow along with the grain. Just make sure you follow along with the grain and u will be good.
Thank you for the video. Question: does that dishwasher have the "no fingerprint" application? My concern with my fridge is if I'm going to "damage" the surface after sanding. I'm in the same boat as you - kids magnets have destroyed an otherwise beautiful appliance.
No I haven’t but if you do let me know and other people here if it works better worse or same I don’t have any more stainless steel appliances that need fixing from scratches at the moment
