If this video did not fix your duplicate home page do the following fix: Go to: Appearance>Menu, and in the Menu settings at the bottom make sure your Menu is set as PRIMARY MENU. You are welcome
Thank you SO MUCH! I was just shy of deleting all my work to start fresh when I came across your post. I spent hours on this. The only difference with my issue is that the extra page was the home page with no menu title. Thank you, again!
Thank you Heman. I had this same problem. I asked my Host provider if they knew what the problem was...they didn't know. Your video had the answer. Thank you very much.
Awesome!! Thank you! Solved it instantly! I launched live last night and was horrified when I opened the home page to the other 'latest post' page... gah! Now I'm ready to share my new site! Thanks!
Another confusing aspect of this are Wordpress's menus. This same thing can also be achieved by leaving the default "reading settings", but instead using custom menus. Most themes have a default menu, which are auto-populated, which also helps creates the issue. But you can create your own custom menu to override the default menu. Then you still need to decide whether you display the theme's home page or to create your own home page.
That didn't work for me, when I went to "reading settings" static from page was already selected. I made sure my settings were just as you showed, but I still have 2 home buttons.
@@LiveYourMagic RU-vid is really on top of things. I just got the email TODAY that you responded to my post. It took youtube 3 years to tell me you replied, that's really screwed up. I figured this out years ago but thanks for the reply anyway.
Tried this and it didn't work. Found a solution so posting it here: Dashboard > Appearance > Menus > delete the wrong 'home page'. Hope this helps someone!

Hello I had that issue few years back and made that video. I haven’t used the new Wordpress recently. I am very sorry. Try following it and it should work. Best wishes
Was hoping this would be my answer. I have a Home and an About page and like you in pages, it displays that I have 2 pages. Yet I have a second Home page. The difference I have is in the Reading. I don't have a front page, it's called Homepage... I anyway I select this box to display Home yet it was already selected as static. Any tips would be appreciated
Leny, Thank you for reaching out to me. This worked for me and others. Did you follow all the steps? I am sorry to say I have not worked on Wordpress recently and will have to work again to get an answer for you. In the meantime if you find any solution, please share. I will try Wordpress and get back to you shortly. Best wishes.
Bro I've done it but my problem is: I don't know where my home page 1.0 is (not appears in pages), and everytime i set a homepage (let's say, homepage 2.0, it mixes both pages. Basically it shows my old homepage and the new one i just set. Can u help me?? Ty!!
Unfortunately, that did not help me, I first clicked static page, then created all my pages and then created my menu and both showed up in my menu, now I don't know which one to get rid of. I've done this problem so many times and messed things up by deleting the wrong one in my menu. I still need help with this.
I still have 2 home pages after doing this. PLus a "blog" page I didnt create yet. In my "pages" i only have home and about us, but on the menu, i have 2 home pages and blog
My apologies to you. I have not used Wordpress for few years. I made that video after I found the solution. Maybe you have to delete and start again. Sorry as I don’t have answer to you.
