A dealership likely would have charged $299 for this simple service. You saved us $300 plus a lot of time, headache and gas driving to the dealer. Thank you so much for this great video!
After watching a ton of useless dizzy no good videos about the serpentine belt of this engine I can honestly say this one is the only one that was informative. Thank you 🙏 sir.
Thank you TM for explaining the removal of the serpentine belt. Also for making it clear on how to turn the ratchet for the removal, then continuing to explain the process to turn for removal of the pulley.
Doing this solo with the rad fan still on is almost impossible- at least the reinstall. Once the lower covers were removed, it took a long breaker bar and a floor jack to keep tension on the belt under the tensioner pulley. Without the constant tension, as soon as the belt moves when loosening the tensioner, the belt came off at least one pulley every time. No room with the fan there to have a hold of the ratchet and keep tension on belt from above. Maddening, until I figured it out, but would've been a piece of cake with a second set of hands. Thanks for the video!
i have this motor, and they are so reliable. The only issues ive ever had was ticking because of a cracked exhause manifold, and 1 misfiring issue due to a bad spark plug. otherwise routine maintenance is all ive had to do.
I just replaced my serpentine belt on my 2012 camry v6 yesterday. Had like 1-2 inches of working room. Hopefully i wont have to change it till 200k miles lol.
I wish my '02 4 cyl. Camry were that easy. I struggled with it then the tensioner broke and I had to put a new one in. Those hydraulic ones are a pain.
Any idea how to fix solid VGRS in LX470? Dealer can’t recalibrate sys. b/c can’t connect computer to VGRS module and recommend replace the VGRS module first part cost $2500, it has 250,000 miles don’t want to throw that kinda money for a unsure solution, I still think module is fine, the sys might be in some sort of safe mode made it unable to connect to the dealer computer, anyone has any ideas please advise 😊 thanks
Hey. Bring it to Scotty in Houston. Are you in Houston or Texas? Or have a second opinion from another reputable dealership or referral from family / friends. Good luck.
