Hey what’s going on guys! In this video I will be showing you how you can remove the front bumper on your Hummer H3. This works with all models years from 2006-2010 H3s including the H3 Alpha and H3T.
From what I've read in the forums on early model 2006s the Torx bolt for the d-ring bracket is mounted from the back. This appears to be the case with mine since I can't see it from the front. Hoping that I can get to it from the back side while under there disconnecting things, or if it doesn't need to come out like Schwarttzy noted.
I did just some searching online to see and it does look like you are right. I have taken these tow hook brackets so many times before on multiple H3s, but I didn't know the early models didn't have them. Dang there is so many little differences just between models years that is impossible to make a tutorial without having some small difference here or there. If you do go to take your bumper off can you let me know if you had to do anything else? Thanks! I'll pin your comment to let others know.
@@4lowmode Ironically I just want to take my grille off to paint it, which means the bush guard comes off. The information is a bit of a chicken and egg thing, if I can't remove the bush guard and grille without the bumper and can't remove the bumper without removing the grille. When I get around to it I'll be sure to report back
@@Schwarttzy Wait so you mean your Alpha has the bolts in the same place that I talk about in the video? Sorry I was confused lol. I also have a 2008 Alpha and my bolts in the same place I talk about in the video.
@@dragondesign Thanks! Wait so, you just want to take the grille guard off? If that is the case, the only thing you need to remove is the D rings and D ring brackets.
I'm sitting there watching the bumper animation and thinking "This is great". Then you actually show taking off the bumper and all the little things to watch out for, and I'm thinking "This is awesome". Finally, you show the gotchas on re-installing it and thinking "Life can't get any better" Your videos are second to none and you've definitely found your calling in life! I don't need to take my bumper off but i'm going to, just because I know how to now. 😎
Thanks I appreciate the kind words! I just hate tutorials we there like "Ya start by doing this" then the camera cuts and they are onto the next part and they skipped a bunch of steps and then they "yeah, just make sure ya do this", and then they finish it by saying "its not that hard, took me like 5 minutes" and when you try it, it takes 4 hours and you're trying to figure out how to do the things they didn't record.
I just wanted to take my "D" rings off to paint them, and paint just the part that they are attached to on the steel bumper, but I found out yesterday that my Torx screws are on the inside, and I don't want to take the grill and everything else apart like in your video, so I will just have to tape everything off to paint everything! Just wanted to say your video's are awesome, so keep up the good work, a lot of us Hummer H3 owners really appreciate your hard work! 10 thumbs up!
We need more Hummer videos!! You might be one of the last people around that is keeping H3 info alive! I also look to your videos for where to buy my stuff! It is getting harder and harder to find vendors that support the H3 line. Your videos are a huge source of information.
You are truly amazing. You were the key in getting my headlights in and now i will do the fog lights. I sure hope you are getting paid well for you videos
I have been waiting for the 4 inch fog lights video since you did the 7 inch headlights video please don’t let the channel die you’re one of the best channels that does hummer h3 stuff if not the best I have watched every video you uploaded more than once waiting for a new video
Oh my apologies! This channel is by no means dead. The 4in foglight video is actually done but I have been waiting for lased designs to come back in stock with them so new people interested in the adapters can actually buy them. If you DM me on Instagram (@acer4lo) or Facebook (Acer Miller) I can go ahead and send you a link to the unreleased version as long as you don't upload it anywhere else.
The D-bag that pushed the thumbs down button is a hater. I have been looking to do this and haven’t found any videos. Since I haven’t had the time to look at it, I thought it was going to take so much longer. I appreciate your work on this. 👏🏼
You’ve done some really great videos I just picked up a h3 a few weeks ago and I’ve already watched a few of your vids and I like that you always give us a good look at everything it’s a nice preview before starting a project..... thank you I really appreciate your time and effort
Dude. You are the man holy cow what a great video. Can you please buy a h2 and do some of these! This was easily the best how to video I have ever seen. Anywhere.
Thanks bro, that was like the best visual manual ,I'll be putting that to use until I get it down by heart.Going to put a nfab light bar up front.. the D ring tip was a big help I'll be doing it alone. Then time to mount light's. I have a 2007 black h3 with 194+thousand miles on her, its time to bring her back to life. There is so many things to do.
Thank you so much for the in depth tour of the bumper! I’m wanting to install a hidden winch mount that goes through the grated area and the pictures online of the install were less than informative on what I would be getting into. This was VERY helpful!
Hey 4 Low Mode! Awesome videos dude really informative and the chapter selections is freakin awesome and makes skimming through the video super easy to find what you're looking for. I used your video to install the 7" LED Headlights and worked perfectly. I have a question about the LED fog lights you have here though which I also purchased but haven't installed yet... Did you need that crazy harness with the relay's like we did for the headlights or any harness for that matter? Just curious before I tear everything down and find out I'm in need of more parts. Keep up the great work brother!
Hey man! No harnesses needed! Plug and play. You do however need to plug them in the opposite way they are intended to go. Do you have the foglight adapters already? If so, and you are ready to do the install, I can send you a link to the my instructional video on how to install the 4" foglights which I have on google drive, but not RU-vid yet. The video is all done but has not been uploaded to RU-vid for a few reasons. I haven't published it yet because Lased Designs is temporarily out of stock of products because he needs to catch up with orders. Also, I have asked him like 5 times if he could please watch the video before hand that I uploaded to see if he has any critiques or things to add to the instructional aspect of the video, since he doesn't provide any instructions with the product and I am basically making the default set of instructions.
@@4lowmode yeah a link to that video would be great, I did already purchase the adapters months ago so I'm good on that front. I purchased the exact fog lights that you had recommended, at least I think you recommended these and one of your videos I can't remember it's been a while. I still can't believe how big of an upgrade those headlights were. Do you need my email or a way of contacting me? I'm not super versatile in the ways of RU-vid for all I know my information may already be public lol.
Did you take those photos and do those animations?? Great Job. I'm subscribing just based on the no nonsense approach to your videos. 50 points to Gryffindor!
Fantástico, tus videos son lo máximo. Yo no se de mecánica. Ahora con mi Hummer H3 2006, he reparado muchas cosas, por que haces que las cosas me sean mas fáciles. Saludos desde Chile
Awesome job on the animation and overlays. I look forward to your vids. Can I suggest doing a torsion bar level vid soon too? Yeah there are a few on the youtubes but would appreciate your take on it. Great job!
Thanks for watching! I definitely do want that video in the future. I have seen all the current videos on that subject and can honestly they aren't that good. Some of them miss details and don't walk you through the entire process. Thanks for watching!
@@8SiCK0LAKE1 There is already a pretty good video done by New Road Adventures. I have followed his tutorial before to change my CV axle and it worked out great! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-lShkJ_whlGo.html
Good question lol. I have 3 and my Dad has one as well. The black one in the video is a Black 2006 Hummer H3 Luxury. I also have a Grey 2008 Alpha Adventure Luxury. In addition, I do have Boulder Gray 2006 H3 that I got for like $2k with a bad engine that I still need to fix. My dad's H3 is a Black 2008 Hummer H3 Alpha Adventure Luxury. I am not really a collector that is trying to keep them in perfect condition or anything. The Alpha is more of a offroad weekend trail vehicle and the 2006 H3 is more for daily stuff. Its really nice to have both the i5 and Alpha so when I make these videos I know the differences between them and take note of that in the videos.
Lol. I've been watching all these older videos in 1.5 speed, and the way you throw your hands when you talk looks like you're spazing out in fast forward. 🤣😂 However I'm enjoying the content.
I realize you’re time is valuable and making videos takes plenty of it but I’m having some issues with my sunroof I opened it a few day ago and I’m not sure what’s happening now but something is out of sync because now it will only open about 4 inches and stops I tried the relearn process with no luck and not being able to get it open and see how the components work together in the is making diagnosis a major problem do you think you could turn out a short vid just showing the track components? Please... thanks for all the great content you’ve put out this far it is appreciated
Great video. Thanks for the detailed explanation - I don't think ya can put a time limit on quality. It takes what it takes -(although it must take a long time to edit). Good work - thanks for posting. I hope someone will come out with a decent price lift kit for the H3. Safety glasses while under the truck.....😨
Yeah hopefully with Hummer coming back there will be more of interest in H3s and Rancho will bring back their 4in Lift Kit. Haha yeah I know I should have safety glasses 😅
Love the videos! Had to figure out most of the process on my own, but it matched your process completely. What did you use on your front grill to make it black?
Hell YEAH Bro!!!! I just subscribe... I'll be back to leave a comment on your Top Notch Video Clip...I'm walking outside now to take the bumper off and paint it...I'll BE Back Coach... 10 stars on the editorial editing!!!!! Shittt somebody throw this Dog bone!!! Hell yeah
I do video stuff more as a side gig, but I was interested in video starting in middle school so I have self learned how to do a lot of video and graphic type stuff.
Love the videos. Got a question if you know the answer. I have a 2007 Hummer H3 Base. For the life of me I can’t understand why the power windows work when I start it but then stop working after 4 minutes. Then ten to fifteen minutes later they work again. Same thing with AC. Blows really cold then stops. Then kicks back on after a few minutes. Any ideas?
That's awesome! Have you seen the newer Schwarttzy light bar bracket? It doesn't require any drilling. Direct bolt on! schwarttzy.com/product/light-bar-bracket/
Great Video! Question for you my 07 Hummer H3 oil light symbol will make the ding sound and blink off and on its been doing this for about a month now i hear its a common problem with the H3’s can you give me your opinion on it if you know anything about it?
I just need to remove my bumper cover...I'm installing a hidden ligt bar were the mesh middle is.....but not seeing all the clips....I know it's gotta be simple. Any videos on that. I can't find any
I definitely want to! Not sure when the spark plugs were changed last on my Alpha so that is on my list. In the mean time, another H3 owner, Schwarttzy made a quick video on it. The camera angles aren't the best, but it gives an overview: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-pvpH5QX2bcc.html
What can I do my fog light are very loose and they keep shifting in the slot how can I fix this I haven’t took off my bumper yet so any ideas will help thanks in advance and great videos keep them coming
I bought 2 different led fog lights from Amazon that won’t light up on my Hummer H3. Is there a harness I need for it to work? Factory one works fine but not the 4” ones I bought.
You mean do a V8 swap? Put V8 in a I5? Yes you can, but it does require a lot of work. Here is one thread on the subject: www.hummer4x4offroad.com/forum/showthread.php/9142-H3-6-0L-LS-Swap
The foglights mount to the inner filler part of the bumper and NOT the external part of the bumper. I found some photos of a external bumper on a ebay listing if you wanted to see just what that looked like: www.ebay.com/itm/Hummer-H3-front-Bumper-Cover-Textured-OEM-FASCIA-06-07-08-09-ORIGINAL-/400588509362
off topic, but does the h3 tempature gauge sit in 1/2 and ranges to the 3/4 mark or bit more when having the A/C on? and is it normal while having the A/C on for the fan clutch to engage more often and make the fan sound louder at times?
Normally it shouldn't. But with older H3s with more miles, a lot of times the temperature does creep up. I had this problem on my 2008 Alpha V8 for years where the average temperature with no A/C was 207F degrees.. Just recently I replaced the water pump on it and it actually fixed it! Went from 207F to 198F. So for me, this was the problem. Before coming to this solution, I installed a new thermostat, radiator, coolant flush, and added Ford Gold Coolant. On top of this, I also have an electric fan from PCM of NC and the Runcool Hoodlouvers. None of this seemed to help except after replacing the water pump. Now note this is my specific situation and I can't say it will work for everyone.
