But it looks those bolts are holding the bumper at each end... are you sure you don't have to remove them?

Those 2 nuts are from bumper bracket.. So you dont have to remove it, only if you have in plan to do it

Not always...i have an E90 328i, I've done all the mentenance and I didn't have any single problem in the las 2 years....

@@WarpDriveM Yeah well, I mean their utter dumbassery with clips and god knows. It's like they think about the most complicated solution possible, then complicate it by 5 to 8 times additionally before applying it to car. I have a 2002 E39 touring and there are two vertical bolts for that bumper, which both have a nut on the underside. Of course they place the muffler absolutely right in the way of it, and of course the nut is rusted stuck there. Took over an hour and plenty of neighbour attention to get rid of that shit.

You are perfectly right but after my experience all the plastic brackets will break because of the age of the cars and plastics
