Thank you straightforward simple and visual unlike other, mines been leaking water for ages and I didn’t know how too get the lid off, next fitting a new bath 😂
Omg, you’re a Superstar!! I was actually scratching my head at this thinking I’d have to call in a plumber to fix my toilet. But I managed to do it myself following this ❤️thanks mate!
Brilliant thanks. 20 years ago my dad would have to call out a plumber to sort a simple job like this. Now thanks to RU-vid we can do these simple fixes by ourselves 👍🏻
I don't believe it! I have actually mended the flush on my toilet looking at your video. As a very recently widowed lady that means a whole lot to me!! Thank you sooo much. Xxx
thank you thank you thank you. after ten years of not being able to remove the lid, i'm finally selling the house and i can finally blue the loo!!! yoohoo.
Great instructional video, short, clear to understand with no waffle, no pointless music and good closeups so we can see what is going on. Btw i tried it and it worked. Bravo and Thank you!
Absolute legend mate. I had 3 ppl come to my place and quoted me from $700 to $3500 to fix the issue i had with the buttons. I was able to do it myself after watching your video and it only costed me $20. Keep up the good work :)
Mine had that screw but there's no slot in the head. It's just smooth 😭 EDIT. On mine the buttons come out, then you unscrew the whole silver bezel, instead of a little screw in the centre. Why don't they just make all the mechanisms the same?!?
perfect!!!! worked like a charm! :) finally.....my blue thingy made it into the tank! I am so very pleased. thank you very much! you are totally brilliant! :)
My Cistern top looks identical but has no screw to remove the top ferule, I don't want to force it up with a couple of screwdrivers as I know that I will break something.
Thank you very much for this, I was trying to unscrew the whole mechanism by hand, but obvuously that did not work. All I need to know now is how to increase the water flow into the cistern as mine is taking ages to fill the cistern!
Thx for video. I have been trying to pull the lid out without any luck. Glad that I saw this video. Now I know! I wonder why they made these lids child prooof, I used to put this blue tablets inside cistern and had a clean toilet, now I need to hang one of those in the pot and I don't like the look of it.. Can't be unscrewing everytime to put the blue tablet 😕
Clear and precise video. But I just wanted to mainly comment on such a poor design. I've always believed this design should becone obsolete as it makes it very difficult for many people (who wouldn't be able to do this) to access to their toilet cistern which should usually be a simple step of merely lifting the lid
Thanx pall! I was wondering alsoo how to remove lid and I have only one button. But when I see your video I was understand that it must be some kind of thread. And i succeed to unscrew the thread. Thanx a lot for giving me an idea how to fix it. High five 🙏🙏🙏 pall.
You saved me from calling the landlord and looking like a morron :D My parent's toilets were the easy to open kind I didnt imagine there would be two kinds
Thank you SO much for this gem of a How-to video. I have one of the buttons and they seemed to drop... couldn't figure out how to remove the unit. Thought I was going to have to revert to a sledgehammer and a new toilet. You are a superstar...thanks to your video I was able to fix it, with a (lot of) help from my missus. Cheers! 😊
Thank you so much! I have been nearly destroying my lid to try to figure it out and because it isn't brand new I couldn't look up the instructions that came with it
Brilliant!!! I wanted to put a toilet sanitiser in the cistern but couldn't lift it to open. I thought I wasted my money but now I know what to do. Thank you, much appreciated, 😊 ☀️
Glad I found this. I just moved to a house with a double flush toilet and was looking up what the purpose of a double flush was. I learned that and then I just happen to find this video👍
Indeed, but what if this locked down cistern is already installed? My home cistern just lifts off easily but the one at work has always puzzled me..... now I know!
Glad I caught your vid before I ever take the lid off. Not knowing this devilish little secret would've ended with me smashing up the entire bog. Possibly the bathroom with it, so many thanks !
Dammit... I can't put mine together. The buttons suddenly stopped working, but everything looks fine. So I'm thinking it just slipped out of its track. But here's the problem, mine doesn't have two separate rods going down, but two halves of a rod 😮One half for each button. And the rods have grooves that align with grooves inside the buttons. So with the buttons out, I can still push the rod(s) down to flush 🙃 Since they are stuck in the lover part of the assembly. And I can't find any producer or any similar toilet online 🙄 Feel stupid for having to buy a new toilet just because I can't get the buttons back in place 😂
The modern flush toilet systems are so complicated nowadays! I accidentally yanked the lid up so hard, the whole flush sticks were pulled out together...Now i need to figure out if anything got damaged... :(
Thank you for the great video, one small thing i might have missed but would like to add for everyone else if i didn't, the button unit is one directional, if you are having problems trying to screw it back on turn the holder for the buttons 180 degrees and it should sit better.
