This trick by backing the box off the engine with the nuts inbetween and turning them out really saved my 4 hours figth with a Nissan Quasqai gearbox where the main shaft was totally rusted into the flywheel center and would almost never let go :O Thank you wery much! :D cheers from Norway!
mine did that turn car in gear and rolled and died i added a stage 3 clutch and the throw out moved but not enough so i needed to add additional throw on clutch pedal to master clutch cylinder then worked great
I think I have the same issue on mine, something happend to it forcing me to take down the gearbox, but when I was about to pull it out it was completly stuck. Ended up breaking two of my fingers, hopefully this will help me get the transmission off when I am able to get back again
+Abe Allen Yep that's right, snapped em right off, was trying to reach the pressureplate bolts through the clutch lever hole, I thought I had the lever completly secured. Before I knew it, the lever smacked back when two of my fingers were still in there, crushing them against the bellhousing :/
+Abe Allen I'll be damned! with some help from others I managed to get the gearbox down by cutting a hole in the house and remove the pressureplate, this is the result; img42.com/pY6IH without your video I had no idea that the pilotbearing could do so much harm, it had completly burned stuck at the shaft. I was too eager to get it down instead of resting so I could only work with my left hand
Ok so the situation im in is the gbox is stuck on but the engine is a japanese 3sge beams. The pilot bearing is in the flywheel. So when pulling back it gets stuck on the clutch. Any suggestions
I don't know. But, I do know that if it isn't lined up perfectly when you install it, it can get stuck. It seems to me you need to remove it and try again? maybe with extra help or something. It does feel nearly impossible to line them up and install them perfectly. if you are going to use a method of removing it i recommend some longish bolts and some nuts, and just pull it back till it pops off. i kept measuring the distance i'd backed it off on each bolt and tried to back it off evenly. (maybe that is the problem you are having, it isn't backing off evenly so it gets stuck?) be careful of getting fingers stuck between engine and transmission.
@@MrAbeAllen im sure i installed it correctly because the engine was out of the car. I double checked fitment before tightening. But like i said there is basically 2 problems im having. The gbox isnt goin into gear and also the pilot bearing wasnt rotating when i put it up. I told the customer these things before proceeding because this was an auto to manual swap. The gbox was full of water before i put it up so i drained it to put a trans fluid in to free it up. So my situation has multiple factors.
Hello just wondering perhaps you may have some suggestions I have had to switch my transmission multiple times it keeps getting stuck in 3rd gear the third transmission that I have put in did the same thing but only this time now when I try to remove it all the boats are out it is come off the guide pins and everything but now it will not remove away from the side of the motor
How much of a gap is there between the transmission and the motor? All you need is a gap big enough to slide a nut between. What you do is put the bolts back in through their holes in the transmission, and into the nuts (between the transmission and the engine), and maybe barely into the engine. Then turn the nuts back up the bolts. Try and do them all equally. This works like a jack to pull the transmission off. It is difficult, but it did work for me.
