For those who have folders names that have spaces, I made it work including double quotation marks in the begining and in the end of the folder names (the originals and the new ones). After that, when saving the .bat archive, i chose the "UTF-8" Encoding instead of the "ANSI" Encoding used in the video! Thanks Choice Specific for the great video!
WOw you really my hero!!! Saved me so much time, i had edited more 500 folders in a week... lazy... and found your video and done in 30 mins... My God!!!!

That's Nice! I have a image folder in which there is 60 Sub-folders. Each sub-folder has file name 1 , 2, 3 in this sequence to 50. Now how can i rename all the filename at a time so that i can get all the image in a folder.
Hi I have a issue that I have lot of folders in one main folder and the same data of folders names in Excel, but what I want is, is it possible to get the seperate list of all folders with names that exist in Excel data. Kindly help in this regard. Thank you
If we have spaces in the original name folder it doesn't work, like Folder (2) it doesn't update to Folder-2. And by default when windows is renaming it adds Name (x) to the folders... with a space between the name and the number.
hey brother, i have a question for you. Is it possible to rename the folders with specific sequence like 0971, 0972, 0973 and so on. I tried using your format but nothing happened. I have Office 365 ProPlus.
Gentleman: if EITHER the original "Folder Name" or the desired "new Folder name" possesses a 'space', then it won't work. Good example is to prepare in a list: put one "previous'' to "new" name exchange, without spaces in it: You'll notice that for this, the folder name will be converted successfully. While to the other folders (in which either or both "original" or the "desired" name contains 'space', won't work. Both for Windows 7 and Windows 10.
hey man i got a question for you,i just got a ransomware virus its fixed, ransomware virus are gone but all my file still encripted(idk how to spell that) and i have to remove the what u call the .blabla thing in the end of the file name, the problem is with ur cmd thing i cant remove that .blabla thing. for example my file name blabla.dat.ransomware and i need to delete.ransomware. thanks goodsir.
If spaces are present, put quotations at the beginning and end to let the .bat file know where filenames begin and end. (ie: REN "FOLDER 1" "MY FOLDER 1")
If there is a folder with the same name and the folder named equal name should be named accordingly, then the folder fonts are changing, the name of the other folder does not change.
