Insanely helpful video. 3 Minute video went from 16 GB to 43 MB. Not noticeable change in quality either.

Haha mine got 25GB (3 min video) after i did the method it's now 3GB. it's still kinda high but It's okay than 25GB🤣🤣

@@blulere Do you recommend switching to after effects? I'm looking for new software to edit in, imovie is fun and easy but i have a windows machine, and Davinci has a whole lot of compatibility issues whilst Vegas files are bokers huge....

I had a video of a podcast that lasted about an hour 45. Trying one of the presets kept getting me large 8 gig files that would tie up my connection for hours if not days. Your preset gave me a gig, which is much easier to handle. Thanks!

Thank you so much! I was just editing a 2 and a half hour long stream to upload to my twitch and this changed it from a 10gb upload into a 1.9gb upload! Granted, there was some quality loss, but since it wasnt any kind of fast paced action it was absolutely perfect! Saved me missing my announcement date!

Perfect! Step by step, easy to understand, squashed a video file from 81MB down to 24MB with no big loss in quality. I found the bit rate reduction to 2,000,000 was a bit heavy and caused some blocky artifacts, so I set that to 4,000,000.

Thank you! Had a 720P video submission for a contest that only allowed a max 50MB upload. Went from 293MB down to 49.9MB! Saved me so much time to not have to do a ton of renders experimenting.

This helped a lot. I use 720p and the only thing I changed was setting the FPS to 60 (cause 25-30 is unbearable) and a 14-15 min video is only 200MB (before it was around 1.5GB and the 420p 60FPS was around 900MB)

Curious if this same process will work for 4K 60fps. Going to have to try an see. I found this helpful on my old laptop, just upgraded to a nice desktop and doing more 4K than I use to. I will update if this process works well for 4K as well.

The only drop in quality that I noticed was that when a video fades out, it slightly flickers. Other than that, you earned yourself a like :)

spend most of yesterday trying this setting and that setting for just a 2 minute youtube video. Finally choosing one that was an hour to render. I did what you said... I rendered one 50min episode with AVC MP4 and it was 2.88GB i did exactly the same settings for WMV and it was 1.56GB... I don't quite get how you managed smaller files with MP4

Hi there. Nice video! I managed to get a 180mb file to only 24mb but i wanted to know if i slightly increased the bitrate, would that increase the video quality? Because the larger file size does have a littler better quality. Please let me know. Thanks.

Well, I must've done _something_ wrong. The file WAS much smaller-- as a TINY little box, surrounded with a huge black border. I can't crop it to fit the whole screen. I followed your instructions EXACTLY, but I'm also using Sony Vegas Pro 16, I don't know if that makes a difference. This is so frustrating. I used to use Handbreak to shrink it and make it an MP4, but it tends to make the video sound or look like shit. I email these smaller videos to myself, so I could post them on Instagram or Twitter. I even tried different apps and methods to crop it to fit the whole screen, but it's SUCH a pain, I can't get it to fit just right, so I've given up at this point. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

In Vegas Pro 11 I don't seem to have the "Internet 1920x1080-30p" and "Internet 1280x768-30p" options in output formats.

I don't know about you but i see big downgrade in the quality, it become very pixely and very blury. Meh but i guess you don't have a choice if your video is large and your internet sucks.

Same here with poor internet quality. Speeds are very dynamic. Could be 800 KBPS download speed one day then the next like 100 KBPS.

Is it possible that Sony Vegas can lock on to a specific file size like 1GB ? cause i recorded a 18 minute video which was 450 MB. But after editing and cutting the video i got a 16 minute video but the file size increased to 1.60GB and this is not the first time it happend :/

Thank you so much! I have a 7:05 long video that the final size after rendering was 43,8GB! After applying these settings the size dropped to 88 MB! Yeah, insane. And the loss of quality is minimal

Questions: Note 1: How much was the file size in the start, before the rendering? Note 2: You kept the WMV file as 5,000,000 whereas the MP4 file was reduced to 2,000,000?
