How To Repair 2004 Chevy Tahoe Instrument Cluster At Home

In this short video, I show how easy it is to repair the instrument cluster on 2004 Chevy Tahoe. The oil prusser gauge and the fuel gauge quit to work. I was able to find replacement step motors on eBay. The job was easy and I thought to share the information in case some is interested into repairing their instrument cluster. GM used this instrument cluster on many of their vehicles. I hope you will enjoy this video as I enjoyed making it for you. Excellent video. Very informative and excellent delivery. I have gauges out except speed. I’m interested in what desoldering and soldering equipment you recommend? I have soldering irons and solder suckers. Thank you very much.

Good afternoon, solder iron and solder sucker is all you need. Make sure to not apply too much heat as this may affect other components. Use solder flux prior to remove the original solder as also when applying new solder as this will make it easier in both cases. Funny this happened to me and I unhooked the battery hooked it back up and the gauge started working again . Hmm 🤔

On mine, the motor was stuck. Good thing yours just needed a computer reset.

They didn't work, they were stuck. That is why I had to replace them. I appreciate your interest, however I don't work on other people vehicles. You can find a trusty mechanic in your area and they can replace or repair your car. Thank you and have a great day

I just searched it on eBay "chevy cluster stepper motors". I showed the step motors that I bought and the old one. If I remember correctly, the part number is shown in the video.
