How to Repair A Converse Sole 

Converse should have included super glues in their boxes.

Which glue should I use?

Tip to stop wear on your Chucks. Get a bigger size. The tension of your foot being crammed into it is causing the shoe to fail. Also, it causes all sorts of foot, leg, sciatic, back, and other problems when your toes are hammered inward because of a tight shoe. Your toes should have room to splay when you step down. This will delay separation of the glue and pretty much stop the holes in the canvas. Canvas under slight tension with no high pressure points will last decades. It’s why the military uses it. It’s industrial grade. It’s always crazy to me that people stuff their foot into shoes so their toes go all the way to the tip. Buy bigger Chucks, and shoes in general. Your feet will thank you.

What do you do when your chucks are separating near the end of your foot where you lift your toe? I legit have had mine for 3 months and they already starting to separate

Thanks for this advice. I just repaired the sole on my 10 year old converse at the heel. Worked perfectly. Walked 6000 steps to the supermarket and back, the repair held.

Gorilla glue doesn't work well lol. Even with water like recommended I got about 4 days use before it popped, and being a full time stay home dad of 3 little ones only one in kindergarten, they don't see much use as I'm home most of the time

I try it but after a month it separated unfortunately I then use jb weld lol now half a year later still holding on strong. Still though fuck converse shoes for making such shoes

What I saw on upper level Converse is that they put a second sole that is covering bellow also the striped rubber around the first sole and is thinner compared to first one (the brown one that you have on your sneakers). I guess it would be street wise that once you buy a pair, that you immediately put double soul, this way physical damage can not be done on the first sole and the striped rubber around it. Once you used the second sole so much you can easily remove it and put a new one...

I'll be honest. Ive glued and stitched the same spot like 4 times and it still came out so I just threw them away.

Had my converse for 5 years and they just started to fall apart , tried different shoe glues but they just come undone so thank you for the video I’m gonna try superglue tomorrow 🙏🏻

This is why I still prefer Vans. Though their designs are not as good as Converse’s but love the durability of their sneakers

Chucks that are made in Indonesia eventually 'sole separate'. The Chucks that are made in Vietnam don't have this issue... Go figurer. 🤷

Tip here. If you have white ones and they are dirty. WASH BEFORE APPLING the super glue. The super glue where's away after u wash them.

Super glue and shoe goo only work for a minute. Epoxy is the best

I've heard shoe goo works also but not for sure?

super glue is not good, it hardens as rock and later cand tear the glued joint.

Why is green screen during the video

Chucks are very durable, both the fabric/canvas and the leather ones, so much so that while other shoes specially mesh uppers stsrt tearing holes, you can wear the Converse for years and it's the sole that wears out from so much wear. I've had 2 pairs, one black canvas and one white leather (for my X-ray technologist classes) for years and they both held up very well, just the black one has a hole on the heel cause I've worn regularly it for over 2 years
