I don't have a shop or tens of tools. I drill holes and use zip tie to close the opening and that's it. It will probably look better than using the shipping tape to cover.

I swear this must be someone at a Bodyshop trying to get the average diyer to not bother trying.

a good rule would be like with a crack in fiberglass repair and that would be to dill at the end f any crck to stop stress from cracking any further. Stress always like to continue so by drilling even an 1/8" or 2 mm ole at the nd terminated tress cracking. The rivets you used with the metal baking plate is a great idea

I thought about it but the bumper is supported fairly well and the crack was caused by a bump so it seemed a bit redundant

One tip with your filler bro to get your filler to spreed better and more smoother add a little bit of fiber glass resin into the filler works well.
@DGRetroCustoms
@DGRetroCustoms Год назад
I have used that trick before but also used better filler, I am still crap at filler though lol, I try and metal finish

Fantastic result. Very handsome man. What is the drawing, or possibly it is a cut in the board, that is on the wall, it’s right in the center on the video. I’m seeing something that looks like, ah, maybe it’s safety reminder. It seems to a reservoir tip. Safety first!

I think its just a cut in the board, it was there just out the way lol

what product did you apply on the bumper?
@DGRetroCustoms
@DGRetroCustoms 3 года назад
there was a couple, I started with fiberglass, then I used some filler then I used normal primer, you should not use normal primer for plastic it was only for the demo on the video, you should use a proper plastic primer or adhesion promoter. I only used normal primer in the video as the whole bumper needs taking back as the paint is flaking

@@DGRetroCustoms what was the filler that you used? I have a a hole in the headlight of a vintage scooter and I was thinking of trying to patch it up. I am not sure which product to use to fill up a hole.
@DGRetroCustoms

@@michalkropiewnicki133 to repair a hole you will need fiberglass its sometimes called bridging filler
