Dude, your video is almost painful to watch...BUT!!!! As an old woman all by herself today I watched this all the way through - then went outside and fixed the pilot light issues on my new (OLD) pop up camper. It was lighting and burning yellow (didn't know that was a bad thing) but it would not stay lit, nor would it power my propane frig. If my tools had been handy, it would have taken about an hour, but of course it took a little longer searching for what I could use and stuff. Long story short, it's been 2.5 hours since I put it all back together and lit it. IT IS STAYING LIT AND MY REFRIGERATOR HAS COOLED ABOUT 15 DEGREES SO FAR or whatever 10 degrees C means cause I could only find a C thermometer. You are my prince charming tonight. THANK YOU.
When we purchased our pop-up almost five years ago, the previous owner had replaced the igniter and thermocouple, but no matter what we did, we never had good luck running the 3-way fridge on LP mode for more than a day or so. And it always had a foul smell from the exhaust chimney. I suspected a dirty floo or burner, but until I stumbled across your video, I wasn't sure the parts were really meant to be serviced by the DIY crowd. After fiddling for a couple hours today...and an extremely tight "nut" on the end of the "crack-pipe"...I got it apart and cleaned...and she's running like a champ. Thanks for posting your work and encouraging guys like me.
Thanks for the video, I took my propane burner out of my fridge cleaned it and put it back together. When I restarted it, it looked like a flame thrower. I thought I had ruined my regulator somehow. Then I watched your video and saw that I had lost the aperture / fuel jet. I didn't know there was one in there when I took it apart. I searched for it and finally got an extremely strong magnet and ran it accost the dirt and gravel with a prayer in my heart. I found it stuck to the magnet. Put it back in and it worked great, Thanks again for the video.
Big thanks to you! My 2001 Dometic, which hasn't operated on LP in over 3 years was not working... following your video I was able to clean it all up and now it's working like a charm... piezo electric starter and all!
After watching you, how to clean all parts to the propane fridge.I went to clean my own and now shes working a charm. Even fires up better than before. Thanks for sharing. Awsome.
Cleaned my fridge burner in the middle of a field at 11 pm with just a small torch, pliers and a quarter inch screw driver bit. Worked a dream since. I'll try and do it before I go away next time. Safe trip
It’s called the “orifice” not aperture. Sometimes it can get partially blocked by a small piece of trash, and will cause the flame to not burn properly.
Hello Kevin I have 2 questions for you. 1. How were you able to put the aperture cup back in properly 2. My gas valve that you push down to light the pilot does not com back up. any suggestions
What's up Bret? The cup sits in there, it seems to go in ok for me. Not sure what to do if your gas valve doesn't pop up, you may have a bad spring? Maybe oil it? Good luck!
@@KevinArchibald where the gas line screws into there's a hole just after that Fitting that faces you. For some reason my flame comes out of that hole. Actually started to melt the igniter wire.
