Troy, SO GOOD! to see You are doing good with the Fridge and AWESOME 'gift box' with all of the cool stuff!! There are a LOT of GOOD People out there!!
I have used it sometimes but its a problem with the stupid guard on round wood. It hangs on the wood. Its a bit dangerous holding it open with my hand. I stick to the hand saw for now.
Very nice office set up. Lets see how we can get you some batteries! And Dave, you are so generous! I can only imagine what your storage shed looks like!
Awesome. That is one clean fridge. Better cover it with how the weather is going whacko again. Upper part of Texas maybe getting some snow soon. Wish it is my area getting it. I am having snow withdraws with not having any for the past three years.
Everything is looking very ship shape...........good job on that fridge cleaning! I did some online looking and see that getting the heat out of the back of an RV fridge when installed is critical if when your outside temps rise. I see a 12V fans with thermo switches to help air move. Also keeping the fridge level is important. You helped with the primer on the tubes in the back as it should help the metal to air transfer of heat over the nasty rust that was there.
Also nice to see that you got your fridge running, if I remember correctly from a previous video you said that the previous owner was using electric to run it, the electric heating element probably went out.
and also he suggested bypassing the control board (thermostat & elec/gas auto/manual control) by detaching the heater and wiring it straight to power to see if it works. The model they were looking at looked dead similar to yours though he said the heater was 120v. Running electric when you've got the sun would make sense, use some of that pv capacity! It's looking good btw!
I can't wait to see you build that. Since you're planning on digging a hole, maybe your landlord might let you expand it a bit to make a root cellar and storm shelter, perhaps?
Try Louisiana for both. Thanks to the marshes, bayous, and such, we keep a high humidity all year round which results in really stuffy heat in the summer months and a bitter, wet cold in the winters when there is not a dry front or high comes through. Not that I am complaining. It's better than where I was in Alabama right at the foot hills of the mountains in Georgia. Winds got nasty there as well as the thunderstorms. Heck, we were allow to be late one day for high school because of wind.
Great job on the fridge. You might want to run it some more outside incase some of the paint burns off. It might smell for a little bit. I know those type of refrigerators work the best if they are level.
TIP: Use a piece is low pile carpet to apply foil tape. It will save you many lacerations and smoothes the tape out real nice. Thanks for posting! Peace!
Hey troy to make your fridge work and cool faster mount yourself a 12 v fan inside it to move the air. you can even stick a battery fan in to play with to figure out where would be best place to mount one.. I know you have that nice new dig temp probe, so put it to use.
Things are looking great there. Heck, if you get more batteries, you might even run an RV air conditioner this summer. Otherwise, what's your game plan for keeping your cool this summer?
Yes, things are getting better. I plan to dig a deep hole, run pipe in it, pump water through and into a radiator with a fan. Free AC pumping 50 degree air.
Re the accumulator on your heating system. This is only an idea and maybe worth everything you are paying for it. BUT what about installing a fairly large diameter standpipe somewhere in the system that would allow the water to expand there. I think if it was a large enough diameter you could just seal off the top end and allow the natural compression of the air within it to return the liquid when cooled off. Just an idea, seems to me like it would work.
the fridge should be hot outside and cold inside .. looks like its working well.. we keep icecream in ours out in the desert in the middle of summer.. they work great. Since yours is outside the camper id add a couple inches insulation to the sides and door..
The primer should not affect the performance of your fridge. Also, to deal with your ant problem, if you can get your hands on corn meal, sprinkle a 1" circle around your camper, that should take care of the issue.
if save your money up you could go to your local storage place. because they auction off the units that people haven't made payments on. you get to keep everything in the unit .you could sale what u don't need.
I am looking for batteries. Wondering if Advance Auto would be willing to give me some in exchange for my and my followers gratitude. Yes, thanks Dave.
But you get stuck with a lot of junk. I used to clean them out for free but its too much trouble disposing of all the junk. Then I was paying for storage to clean out the storage. What a mess.
I have the same model you have but I lost the manual for it . What model is you Consul frag????? I need to know as to order a new seal in the freezer part of the unit . and where can I fine that seal replacement??? Thank you
Oh thats horrible. It lasts two weeks when its really hot out and about 3 weeks during normal weather. Probably longer in winter and cooler weather. Its a dollar per gallon here.
Ack. My heart rate went through the roof when I read your comment. Thanks. And thanks for the scare. Now I know my heart can still handle a bit of a scare.
Works like antacids to seagulls(or any birds in that matter). It causes gases in the ant's stomachs to form and bloat them to death. A bit cruel, but it works.
Indeed. Bonus, we are right in the prime zone for permaculture heaven thanks to were are close to the climates of rain forests, which used to be food forests for people down in South America before the colonists destroyed their empires. Add the fact the area I am planning to buy land at is still full of forest and swamps, permaculture will be my best bet to get the best out of the land since the forests and swamps can help provide for me if on said land.
