You've probably already solved this, but here's a good answer FYI: If you ever need to replace a brake cable and its housing, you can easily buy them at any bike shop. Together the parts for each side would cost $5-15. (Basic quality will certainly suffice.) Perhaps the bike mechanic would fix it for you. However, it's a simple replacement for any handy person. If you DYI, I recommend having the shop cut them to a proper length because ordinary cable cutters or dikes tend to maul the cables and housing, instead of the clean cut that you'll need. Right one works just fine, it's the left one that needs work. My walker is unusable.
