Wow! Thank you soooo much. You should win an award for how goos you explained this. And in detail and patiently. Me and my hubby rewired our washing line by watching your video step by step and it worked perfectly. Thank you so much
I just did your thread up on my line using line with thin wires and a plastic outer. It was a bit of a hassle going around the loops, but understandable. Will report back after the re tensioning if I remember. Thanks for the tutorial
Hoo, I'm a female living alone and like to do my own maintenance where I'm able. Bought the wire plastic coated washing line and am going to attempt it now..🤞🤞 I loved how you did it. Thank you for uploading
Nice video but I would strongly recommend disassembling the washing line if you want to do a proper restore. Many clothes lines rust from the inside out so it's hard to know what condition its really in if you're just looking at it from the outside. Couple tips when restoring: - If there's rust inside the arms, spray in fishoilene to coat the inside of the pipes, this will prevent future rust from developing. - Open up the winder clamshell and grease the bevel gears and worm assembly. I know there’s an oil hole but there are places the oil won’t get to. This step might sound challenging but it's really pretty simple, just make sure to pay attention when disassembling, take photos if you need to. - I would also recommend gal wire over nylon cord, sure it's a little trickier to work with but it will last 10 times longer. - Replace rusty bolts, some older washing lines use imperial nuts and bolts, I used M8 galvanised nuts and bolts to replace the original rusty ones. Better to do it right the first time, that way it’ll be good another 50 years.
Just doing this is a refresher I think I used to start off with a small circle and A little loose then at the end I just run my fingers through it and pull it tight until the end and pull it tight with tension and tongue once it’s all fitted you can pull each circle tight and move onto the next until the end
