"That engines timing is gonna be funkier than techno music, and will end with a BANG" Why is it that for every one of these videos, there is some knob-end know-all saying "oh that won't work"? Do you think they do this for fun? Just in case you are not aware of the fact, properly done welding is as strong as the original, and repair of all sorts of shaft etc is done, just like this, the world over. Yes, even by white people.
Молодцы ребята! Как всегда на высоте! То, что оно работать не будет, это такое. Главное ролик интересный. Смотрю вас всегда с огромным интересом, узнаю много нового. Короче - так держать! Ролики чаще делайте, а то смотреть нечего.
Having indicated parts in in a 4-jaw, I’m guessing they get within a few thousandsth, or perhaps a tenth of a millimeter with that wire-and-eye arrangement. (I’ve used half-thousands dial indicators, and usually get well under one division total indicated runout. Note I’m currently doing this at home, though I have done it at school and in a job setting in years past.) These people weld better than I do.
Knock the heat-treat out of a cam and the lobes just wear down real fast. This repair is just silly… enough that it makes me wonder if they make some of these weird repair videos in their spare time for clicks.
Exactly, they do it for clicks. (not every one though.) We all have been in the shop having a beer challenging each others skills. Betting each other if the part can or should be fixed. These guys figured out if you record it, and put it on RU-vid, you can get paid for it. Then they figured out if you do it wrong, or unorthodox, people shit the bed in the comments, helping to feed the all mighty algorithm. We all moan at reality TV for inducing fake drama to create views. These guys are doing the same thing. So kudos to them, they probably make more on one video, than they do all month. And to be fair, there is a shit-ton of information you can get in the comments.
all those commenting , you have never lived in a country where parts are not available and if they are you cant afford them, and yes, these things workf fine for what they are intended and used ! these videos are the real thing and not for clicks on youtube, this is how things are repaired in these countries and they just work fine,
I don't know what caused this camshaft to break but the motor it came out of had a lot more damage than just broken camshaft I sure would have loved it if they showed that motor being torn down IF it is straight and IF it is still long enough it will work long enough to be cost effective these types of repairs by themselves can work but here's the problem there going to put it in a truck that already has 1 welded frame 2 welded drives haft 3 welded rear axel 4 welded axel shaft 5 chipped gears repaired with welds 6 rims that have bin repaired with welds 7 front suspension with EVERYTHING welded back together 8 welded leaf springs 9 cracked engine block welded 10 welded crankshaft Just to name few now add to that tires with softball size holes that have bin repaired a repaired steering box rebuild alternater and starter and rebuild radiator and refurbished battery and on and on ........!!!! NOW IMAGINE Shifting to low gear on a 10% downgrade
Idk how but these things work I've seen these overloaded trucks with welded cranks do 1000s of kilometers on hilly mountainous terrain without any problem at all
@@ilhanabbas6778 yes your right. The reason these repairs seem to work so well is that for the most part the trucks operate at low speed and low RPM almost never exceeding 30 mph (50 kph) if these trucks were driven at 75 mph (120kph) on American highways it wouldn't be very long until the engines exploded or some other catastrophic failures occurred.
Superbe travail, tu trolles ?
My dude in blue can fix ANYTHING with his lathe machine!!!! Not to mention he has the most beautiful hands and feet I’ve ever seen!! Keep up the amazing work u do! Props on ur welding helmet and I c ppl always talk 💩 about their fixing methods, well guess what mofos! This is the way they fix things where they may not have the means we do here in the states! Anyway, love ur Chanel and massive props from the USA baby!!!
Are there no dial indicators in that country ? Don't they see how crooked the camshaft is . Did anybody else cring when he tightened the chuck down on the can journal ? That weld is guaranteed to be weaker than the original cam that broke .
i have offered to send a few tools to help out on another similar channel. I got no reply. Its the mindset, If they dont mind throwing their machined parts on the ground, Do we really thing they are interested in stepping up their quality? I think in their world they are doing great.
Camshafts and crankshafts should always be casted or forged in one piece for structural integrity, yes they can be wielded back together but it’s best to just get a new one all together
Primitive fix. No micrometer. The shaft needs to be preheated. No protection for good cams. What about the alignment of the cams. Very primitive! I doubt the effort is worthy.
Very nice fake. This you can install into camel transport. I see no guarantee in valves timing for all cylinders. The next part can be rotated some degrees. Simply very good repair.
personally, it doesn't look to me like the adjoining lobes got anywhere near hot enough to affect them. And, they are quite possibly face hardened anyway.
@@alexanderSydneyOz i can tell by the color those lobes went that they did get hot enough to be annealed, it'll probably still last a long time before those lobes are wiped off though
Doesn't the Camshaft have to be Heat treated, after your done, The lobe next to the weld was red hot, soften the Metal, I can see it work, Because I know some one who fixed one.
and it will never work a welded cam shaft straightened with a piece of steel wire it won't be able to go in the holes with 0.02 + tolerance ..but they will probably get it in because they have a huge sledgehammer to beat it in why do you think ..this are sharpened to measure with 0.01mm tolerance and straightness of 0.025mm
The sheared cam ends did not look sheared. Looks like someone cut it in 2 and smacked the ends it a few times to make it look lumpy. Defo a click bait video...
Есть мнение, что это просто автор канала всяки шок контент заказывает. Ну не могут реальные работяги такое делать. Их же сначала анально накажут, а потом уволят с занесением замечания в грудную клетку с ноги.
