I just replaced my touchscreen (with 1 ordered from your site) and it works/looks as good as new! (My original touchscreen got hosed when I was removing the colored border for a shell swap, and the plastic sheet pulled up. Hardest part of this whole job was plugging the touchscreen ribbon back in, a pair of nice thin tweezers is a real lifesaver.
Absolutely. In almost all cases a touch screen issue can be corrected simply by replacing the bad touch screen. You can either follow our video guide, or send in your system for our professional repair staff to fix for you. Visit our site for the parts or to order our repair service.
Thanks, good video. Very informative. Everything was going smoothly until I had to open up the P6 connector and snapped the lock right off. Those things are fragile! Fortunately they're also cheap. Looks like fixing this old secondhand DSlite is going to be more work than I thought.
Omg thank you so much I had no idea I ruined my touchscreen and I thought it was a part of it and I got so frustrated thinking it just needed to be fitted together properly but little did I know I totalled it I really appreciate the help I liked and subscribed
Just an FYI everyone, the link to their repair shop is not only dead, what it did take me to was a high threat site that was fortunately blocked by my antivirus.
@VelvetNightmare313 No, those are actually the protective covers for the top and bottom lcd screens. The rubber layer attaches to the back of the screen and acts as insulation. Let us know if you have trouble installing, and if you do get stuck, remember we can always help you out with our professional repair service. Thanks!
wow, nice job, all that seems hard to do, thats good you guys are experienced, thank goodness though that i take care of my things and never really scratch them. :)
God, that flatwire cable connecting the top and bottom screens... It's honestly a really convoluted design on Nintendo's part. It could have been a lot simpler. I feel really bad for the people on the assembly line putting these together, if they weren't machines. I've taken apart ds's where top screen breaks simply because the cable for screen connection is too abused from opening and closing the system. The original ds actually has a better layout. I suppose they had to put it in a little case
@abbydid17 The problem might be the Upper and Lower screen. Does it shows blank white screen? We hope you can send it to us for repair. Search on google for nintendo repair shop.? Thanks for viewing!
ok the LCD part of my touch screen will not turn on while the plastic section works just fine will I have to replace the whole LCD or was it just somehow disconnected
Thank you for the help. I recently bought a new touchscreen however after installing it only parts of the touchscreen works. And often times it changes spots after awhile. Please help
We have changed our company name and website. The Nintendo Repair Shop is now Retro Video Game Repair at www.retro-video-game-repair.com. Please visit us for all your DS Lite repair parts needs.
@TheDracoNite If the upper and lower LCD screen showing blank white screen. It needs to be replace. Send it in to us if you'd like us to fix it for you. We offer a DS Lite repair service on our site.
If you broke the clip, you need to replace the entire clip assembly to secure the ribbon for the digitizer. You'll need tools to perform surface mount soldering work. The clips can be purchased on eBay.
@Retro Video Game Repair Good evening first of al Thanks for the indepth video very helpfull. i have 1 Question in 15:13 you show that plasticy thing from the touch screen if i accidentaly peeled it off.. is there a way to repair it or is the screen doomed?
I replaced touch screen, it works perfectly but now does not read any games. I tried DS slot and GB slot, neither show a game inserted. What could be wrong?
@ChrisTheImortal If the lcd is broken if its shows blank screen or simply not turning on. For the touch screen, if no longer registers correctly when you touch it with the stylus or is horribly scratched up.
I tried this and now my touch screen takes extra force to use it. Not at all happy with the results. Could've been my fault, but I would like to know how.
Okay so...What if it isn't the touch screen itself, yet the layer that actually protects the touch pad? I bought a DS Lite on Amazon an the bottom screen had like small indents all over the bottom screen.
So my ds lite touchscreen doesn't work. Like you have to touch it certain places for it to work... if you get me. I checked the website I'm not sure if you guys still let a professional do the ds lite touchscreen repair???
My ds is broken. I want to play Pokemon heart gold but the top screen is all black and it can't stand. The r button is also broken. Any help? Plz reply. I think I'm gonna have to buy a new one.
