A really comprehensive video my dude, I’ve had the exact same problems with namely my left hub motor on my g3. With it stalling and making loud sounds. I fixed it the first time by loosing then tightening the bolt then unplugging it from the power/esc but now that you’ve shown me the real underlying issues i think I can fix it for good. I appreciate it lots man much love

@@esk8nyc I also been having a problem with that battery Because it’s says it’s fully charge but when I connect the new remote and gas it it’s able to do it for a little bit then the board shuts off but when I plug the board in the light stays green saying that it’s a full battery
@@dylankitchens8518 That used to happen with my backfire as well but your battery is doing that because you have dead cells in there so you think the board is fully charged but the battery isn’t at full capacity it’s damaged. So I definitely recommend you to purchase a new battery
Great vid! I wondered if switching it to reverse and riding it around backwards would prolong the life of a motor ha ha or.... can they be switched upon reassembly? I mean, so you can run them in the opposite direction. Or is there a specific left and right motor? Dumb thoughts/questions for the day LOL.
No its not a dumb thought thats an excellent question, if you switch the left and right motors technically they would be spinning backwards but the stateboard itself would go foward if in reverse mode and backwards in standard mode. I've seen backfire ride their electric skateboards backwards in their range test videos but honestly I'm not sure if riding it backwards would prolong the life of a motor.
In my opinion I think riding it backward wouldn't make much of a difference I could test it out, but I feel like if you rode it backwards all of those cracks and bumps your board encounters is going to have a bigger impact at the front wheels than the back wheels.
thx for the vid man , gives me an idea on why my brakes are bad on my inboard . will just have to clean them and also make custom battery packs since inboard is dead sadly
@@esk8nyc yeah but sadly the inboard M1 have very specific dimensions for the battery so it can fit in the board so I’m trying to do that but with better batteries

@Mr. Friend Double kingpin trucks are nice in my opinion because they allow you to make sharper turns while riding. If you want to make it more comfortable to ride you could change the bushings of the trucks. You could also purchase shock-absorbing foam grip tape so you could be able to ride comfortably on more rigid surfaces.
I would suggest it as a good street board if you are buying an electric skateboard the first time. But there are better boards out there but just higher price. The G2 Black does well performance for its price.
Salt destroyed my left wheel got on vacay and it was seized 1st day after taking it to work in the middle of winter I am looking to buy a new motor so does it matter what “side” I buy or when I connect the wheels will it auto connect and register it’s the left wheel
I cannot do it, maybe you can help? I followed your video until roughly 9:40. But then, no matter how hard I hit the skate tool (using a full blown hammer at this point), nothing moves, the motor just won't come out. Any idea what I could be doing wrong?
@@jacobcronk1844 Yes the older hub motors were easier to open, you had more access less water resistance, the cables would wear out quicker. The newer versions are impossible to open so you would have to purchase a brand new hub motor.
Because the battery gets weaker over time. If you want your board to work good as new you could buy a new battery from the backfire website and swap them out on your own with the hex keys that they gave you in the box.
I've got the G2 black 2020, when I take the sleeve off, there is no outer metal surface, it looks like the inner and outer metal are one, I would really like to know how to remove the bearings if anything
Honestly I'm not sure how to remove the bearing. I have a friend who has the g2 black 2020 and his motor had an issue where it would make a very loud noise. I took off the sleeve and it looked like there was no possible way to open it. The way backfire designed the 2020 boards this time, they really made sure no customer would be able to open it up to change those bearings.
But on the positive note if you really think about it, your bearings may never get rusty at this point because they are sealed tight and there's no way water, dirt, sand, etc will ever get in.
The negative side would be that if your motor ever had an issue it would probably be those things wires because they are all bunched up and squeezed tight to fit into that motor. If thats not the case, you'd probably have to buy a new one for $90. Hope this helped!
Do you know how to fix the motor piece? Mine won’t turn without a lot of force and it clicks/grinds. Both bearings are fine and spin well and I’m almost 100% sure it’s not that. And the motor doesn’t really look too dirty.
Open up the esc and check to see if there’s any loose wires or detached wires to solder. If it’s fully water damaged contact tech@helloskate.com to get a replacement part or check in the Backfire USA website they should have that part for sale.
