Agree totally, great video and information. Also, he has the ability to draw a near-perfect rectangle with his off hand! 5:30. Hes just showing off now

How did he add the amps to see which component was getting hot? Did he put the ground probe on the ground pin and the plus probe on the plus pin? And to check if it was short he used any two points and if it beeped it is shorted?

I practice laptop repair but on my second laptop repair is hard because the laptop is working on battery only or charger only. When i plug the charger it's shorted on my bench power supply but when i plug unplug its works some time. You don't have video like this that's why i don't have an idea but i think it's a bad charging chip or some protection diode.

I found your channel few days ago and today I fixed my first motherboard (Asus K53SD). I found a dead mosfet using 10 euro multimeter, replaced it using simple soldering iron (I attached piece of steel wire on top of it, so I don't damage other components). You are a good teacher. Thank you. Keep it up!

Thank you very much. After watching this I managed to repair my Acer Aspire 5560 which had a faulty capacitor. No power/charge LED on the laptop with or without the battery. I had 19v from the power supply but when I plugged it into the laptop the voltage dropped away quickly. Watching this video helped with the diagnostics. Thank you once again.

I've watched this video over and over to help me diagnose an Acer swift 3 with similar problem. Since finally getting a linear DC power supply off eBay, I also put about 2 amps of power through my board and found two resisters heating up! One with no sign of damage, and another that had scorch marks coming from it. I've replaced both using a hot air rework station and resisters from a donor board. And after a couple trials of using the hot air gun to rework the solder... I plugged it in and VOILA!!! LET THERE BE A CHARGING LIGHT, AND BOOT LIGHT!! Thank you so much sorry. Can't remember your name. But I do love your teaching style. You give hope to those who may know theyll never be smart enough to "design a car" but at least you help them change the tires if you know what I mean. Thanks again.

Thank You Sir Sorin for all your instructions!! i actually managed to fix my acer laptop using your method, i didn have a multimeter nor the tools that you have just a soldering iron, i used 2 9v batteries connected to each other instead of the linear power supply that you have, i thought i didn have anything to lose anyway, to my suprised one of the chip started to heat up when i press my hand all around the motherboard, i removed that chip(i didn have a spare one) and the laptop booted!! i do not know how long it will last though, Thank You Again Sir Sorin!!
