This is a video made 5 minutes after completing troubleshooting and a little digging and experimenting on a Vizio V585-H11 that was left by a customer for diagnosing and repair.
The TV would come up with just blank screen, but not because of the LEDs, which are the single most common reason for such complaint; the back light would come up and the screen would have glow (visible in dark), but there would be nothing on the screen.
Customer said they can also hear sound, i.e. the main board was working.
(and BTW one of the first things you'd want to confirm is whether the main board works, i.e. whether the problem is in the main processing unit or along the video output tract - T-CON and LCD panel); one of the best ways to do that is to try get sound out of the TV by feeding one of the HDMIs and switching inputs blindly until you get sound; that rules out the whole main board with 99.9% accuracy).
Not asking for subscriptions or donations, but would appreciate it if you let the world know if that worked for you or if you can add something useful to it.

Hi I wanted to thank you for this video. I found a tv in the alley behind my house and was able to fix it using this. I’m glad it was saved from being thrown away.

Ive done this to quite a few dumpster picked samsungs. The color is usually off or there are faint lines. I havent figured out vizio or lg yet. I use thin tape so it doesnt move around. Im guessing most likely short is in panel itself, most ive tried to figure out anyhow. Thanks for the info.

That's a good hack on those Data lines , I know how it works in my head , but I can't explain it ........ Charge a bench fee of 20 dollars and explain to the owner what happened ....... He'll be happy to pay 20 dollars rather than 80 or 100 etc etc .....

First...if you can't explain something then you don't know it. The idea is not mine, actually and I do not mean it as an offense, but as feedback. Most people - myself including - at one point or another in their lives lie to themselves in a similar way. The ONLY way I can think of how this could be happening without loss of quality (which there might be and I might not be seeing it) is if the signal that was cut was watchdog or feedback that has gone bad. I do not think this is the case here. Second...the amount charged...should be more than $20 at least in my opinion. *if* this proves to be long lasting hack (presently 5 hours and 3 successful random restarts on demand) then I think the customer should still be paying somewhere near standard repair service, say discounted mostly for the sake of risk. As everything that is unique - and something like that comes relatively rarely - it takes time to come up with it and then most of the time it doesn't work. So in order for technician to be motivated to spend time experimenting (beyond the diagnostic fee time) someone should be paying for all those failures. Nobody else would but the successes.
