Thanks, I used a toothpick to lift one latch and pry the other side latch with a flat screwdriver, then push up. I think the hardest part is lifting the panel. I used a 3/8 ratchet extension covered with rag to pry. Then came the warning light... It just wanted me to step on the brakes and activate the switch it says on the dash, then the warning light went away. Thanks for sharing!
I can’t believe VW wouldn’t fox this broken e-brake switch under warranty and the dealer quoted almost $200 for the repair. Bought the switch for $25 and did it in 15 min though i did break off a piece of plastic from something under the shift boot. I used a T-15 bit for the two screw fasteners.
It takes 20-30 minutes for the mechanic as well. Only the dealer mechanics do it in 10 minutes, as they already know how to do it and have acces to manuals
