in this video i am changing the barrel and piston on a yamaha slider 2000. this is due to a lack or loss of power when warm (suspected piston rings) i will also change the little end bearing. this did not completely solve the issue, i suspect the engine is now pulling in air through the crankshaft seal causing a imbalance in the combustion chamber of fuel to air.

Hello, I have a scooter called Yamaha basic jog model SA24J it has a 49cc cylinder, can I change it for more? And how much can I change?

Nice video! Did you ever fix that problem of power loss when warm? Got the same problem.
@THECOOLGUYBOB
@THECOOLGUYBOB 5 лет назад
Not really, I think the transmission is sticking BC the rollers don't have enough weight to change down to a lower gear ratio. I can temporarily fix it by fitting a strong contraspring however it looses its torque and the same problem occurs again after a month

@@THECOOLGUYBOB What rollers do you have?

what precautions should I take when riding after a new installation ? should I ride with low rpm and avoid uphill rides ? should I let the bike work for 15/20 mins for the parts to adjust or ?
@watermelonwatermelon6513
@watermelonwatermelon6513 Год назад
start it, let it idle, 15 min later shut off, let it cool, do it again 2 times, let cool, take for a spin, avoid high rpm and 2 rides later it should be good to rip

@watermelonwatermelon6513 thats what I figured, did exactly that and looking forward to new mods

You said soaking the piston and cylinder in 2 stroke. What do you man by that
@THECOOLGUYBOB
@THECOOLGUYBOB 4 года назад
As in making sure to lubricate the parts before reassembly to help prevent any scoring on the inside of the cylinder bore. So just wipe the piston and rings in 2 stroke oil before putting in the barrel.

Eeyy help me!! In 6:20 you have the piston on the rod! And at 6:50 somewher there you put it out again and u say smthng for the piston rigns explain this to me i must put first the piston rings in the cylinder or no
@THECOOLGUYBOB
@THECOOLGUYBOB 4 года назад
Just put the rings on fist, then install one gudgeon pin clip and slide the gudgeon pin through the con rod and piston. You can then Install the second gudgeon clip as seen at 6:50

@@THECOOLGUYBOB oooand something else the piston has 2 pin clips?? One from the right side and one on the left side right!?
@THECOOLGUYBOB
@THECOOLGUYBOB 4 года назад
Place the first ring on top of the piston. Gradually push it down until it reaches the second groove ( if it has two rings) then repeat for the next ring but put in the groove closest to the top of the piston Yes there are two retaining clips beside the piston that you need to put on after is is installed on the rod and gudgeon pin. You may then squeeze the rings tight to the piston so that it sides in the cylinder much easier. Note 4 hands help this operation. If you are unsure about any of this that I have explained I would recommend looking at a different video as I wouldn't want you to mess it up. Hope this helps
