Well done. To the point both in video and audio. A rare quality lacking in so many of these DIY videos that seem to ramble on, rather than be informative. I look forward to your inspection of the internal door components video.
This is an amazing video! i have been running around for a year with my strips broken off. I didnt even know they were that easy to replace! thank you for saving me long term expense!
I found if you tilt the top of the strip away from the cab that the clip pops right out. Then just follow the video. Did all four on my '07 double cab in less than ten minutes. GREAT VIDEO!
These fit perfectly!! The only complaint I have is on me for not realizing how simple this was. First one took 4-5 minutes, other 3 doors took 2 minutes max. So simple and easy!!!!
This video saved me lots of time and money. I bought the driver's side weatherstrip from an online OEM parts store for $20 and in about 2 minutes had it installed. It's that easy.
I have an 2007 Tundra and my weatherstrips have been screwed up for a few years. I ran across your video, ordered the strips and replaced them this morning in less than 5 minutes. Thank you for your very informative video!!!
Thanks for the video! I almost took it to the dealership to have them fix it and they wanted almost $600. I paid $160 from OEM and had them replaced in 20 mins.
Thanks so much for posting this video. Was washing my 2010 Tundra last night and notice the weather stripping was worn just like yours. Love my Tundra and want to keep it in good shape as long as I can!
my 07 Tundra double cab back window moldings exhibited exact same conditions, i used your advice and order from OEM and installed in about 20 minutes (Originals were tight!). thanks for the the instruction, saved some $$ for sure.
Thank you for your videos. You talk slow enough and your voice is so easy on the ears. My husband is Mexican and although he has been here in the states for 23 years his English is no where he says it is. He likes to do as much work on his trucks as he can. He followed your illustrations and even understood your words so perfectly. He was happy when I found your videos because everyone else, either hid what they were working on, or would talk so loud , didn't know hw to really explain, or a couple of them I changed just because they gave off such an egotistical vibe I felt they needed a few less views, so I took care of that for them. Thank you again for being so clear and your camera angles are on spot. Keep on doing it. I'm sure he'll need videos for other things.
Thank you for posting this video.. I purchased from OEM and saved so much money... total fix was $135. Compared to $650 the dealership tried to charge.. I was able to fix myself.... so I know others can too. very easy... just watch the video...5 🌟
This is the best video I've seen on this so far. I just bought the parts and was struggling to get the old ones off. I'm going to try again following your directions. Thanks!
So glad I watched this very clear and helpful video. I need to replace the ones on my 2007 Tundra standard cab and thought they fastened from the inside requiring removal of the interior door panel. The passenger side has torn but I may as well replace both. Thanks for posting this.
Ooo great to read this comment-I have a 2010 4Runner with cracking window molding and was watching this awesome video wondering if the 4Runner would be the same. THANK YOU for the video! Straight to the point, easy to follow and added bonus of saving me a ton of $$ on the parts!
Excellent video and instructions. I have a 2007 SR5 Double-cab. Just finished the driver's side door. Moving on now to the others. My originals were near trash stage. When I'd go to clean the windows in the summer months, the deteriorated rubber that was left would smear like tar. Thanks for the help. 🙏🇺🇸
Thank you for this! Just replaced all mine just now. One thing I’d suggest is cleaning the grime off before installing the new ones. I just took a microfiber towel and window cleaner.
Andrew thank you for the instructional video. I appreciate you. FYI, I went to the dealer this afternoon to ask how much would it cost to have one of the rear passenger belt molding/window weatherstrip replaced. The TOYO dealer informed me that it would be 20 dollars for the part and about a 1hr of labor (approx. $120 USD) to do one door, because it would entail removing the inside door panel to get to the supporting clips of the molding. I am glad I waited, and did not pulled the trigger on having them replace the one dry-rotted weatherstrip. Thank you buddy.
Big thanks! My 08 passenger side strips sun rotted and the end that goes under had me thinking "body shop". Saved me a lot of cash and grief. OEM parts on order from eBay. NOTE same part # for 07 thru 17 Tundra DBL cabs.
I just finished replacing the window trim on all 5 windows of my 4Runner. Thanks to your video I found the place to order the parts (OEM) and figured it all out by myself...without the help of a man! Well, with the exception of your video, that is. So thanks a bunch!
Exactly the info I was hoping to find! I bumped the window switch when I intended to hit the door lock while my 2011 Tundra had ice on the windows. Ooops - I know better! And that was all she wrote for that aged molding. Thanks for the perfect vid to learn the fix. (Subscribed!)
Thanks for posting this. Got the same problem on the drivers side. Wondered what those were called - couldn't find them on Rock Auto and I didnt know about OEM Parts Source. Ordered today.
Thanks for sharing. That was super easy. I did mess up on one thing. While replacing the rear door piece the old/worn inside half fell down into my door panel. It's easy to do if you weather strips were as bad as mine were.
Awesome first vid that came up and really useful. I need to do this when I get home. Humid weather keeps making my windows get stuck the foam on the inside is gone
I just replaced these on my tundra yesterday and they don't seem to want to stay all the way down in the middle. Are they supposed to hook/squeeze into something or use some kind of adhesive?
I just got a set of 4 on ebay for about $35 for my 2009 Highlander. Going to tackle it now. I would be very weary about removing the door panel unless it were totally necessary. Once removed, those fasteners never seem to hold as good as before.
