6 years on, your video just inspired me to not pay $1100+ to one of the 3 HVAC companies, and just do this myself. DIY and its communities are great and ever present! Thank you good friend!
Thank you sir. You are a champ! I had 2 techs who quoted me $900 and $600 to replace one of these dampers that costs $100 on Amazon. Ii took me 15 mins to replace it after watching this video. I understand people gotta make a profit but what these guys are charging is boderline unethical.
I could not understand why my garage was beeping, thank you. I didn't even know there was a battery in there. If the power went out, I wouldn't have even tried to use my garage door. Good to know I can
I also have a 2013 4Runner with the same problem, except mine is cracked and not with a big hole. It was cracked enough for water to get in and short out the bulb. Replacement lens are surprisingly cheap. I wonder if it would be easier if you remove the tire? Thanks for your video. It will save me a lot of money taking it somewhere to have it done.
My wall opener is saying replace battery. I’m not getting the beeping though. What doesn’t make sense is why is the backup battery already bad when I haven’t lost power at all to my house??
Thank you for this! Just replaced all mine just now. One thing I’d suggest is cleaning the grime off before installing the new ones. I just took a microfiber towel and window cleaner.
Great video bud Im an hvac tech and they sending me to change one out tomorrow, I had never done it or seen it done Im glad I found you’re video bud thankyou so much .
Those spring return motors are crap! I've gone through my fair share. Everytime the motor got so hot the plastic gear would get soft from the heat & strip out. I went to a 3 wire non spring return, non honeywell brand.
Thank you! I just had a tech out and told me this was the issue. So he unhooked it completely just temporarily. So I don’t have control of the downstairs zone. But it’s now freezing downstairs. They’re working up a price to replace the motor. He said “it’s not gonna be cheap” but I’m pretty handy so I’m gonna see what they say and do it myself anyway.
