Well done, very crisp. Beware of pulling out the emergency door release, which is a bugger to get back in place if you do. The tab end (red, not black, in my machine) sticks out inside of little door on the bottom right of the machine. To be easily able to fish it through if need be, tape a string or thin wire on the bottom end, where there's nothing to tie it to, and tie it on top so it's easy to untie when putting it back. Also, the door seal spring has *a real lot* of tension. If unable to slip the hoop and spring back on the door, I found it much less difficult to bend back one of the wires connecting the hoop to the spring with suitable pliers, put the hoop and spring in place, slip the end of the spring over the bent wire, and bend the wire back in with the hoop in place.

Thanks! Just saved me $300, as once I got the seal off I discovered that the lock wasn't even broken, it has just detached from the frame of the washer. Clipped it back in place and it's all fixed.
Hi, thanks for your comment, hopefully our video has helped you to replace the door lock on your washing machine yourself, and it is now locking correctly once again!
If a washing machine door stops opening can this affect whether the washer drains and spins or is it usually the other way around? Mine wouldn't open today and when we eventually got it open (using the strimmer line method) the clothes were sodden inside. We checked the drains, the filter and the carbon brushes and all seem fine. Now at a loss knowing what to do next. Hi Nibs thinks the door problem might be affecting the drain and spin because the door 'padlock' light was blinking now and then on the console.
Thanks eSpares, the door handle snapped after I wrote my comment so we've ordered a new one today. Also, I think everything else if fine. My daughter put one sweatshirt in our 8k machine and I read on 4 sites that that sometimes a too small load causes the machine not to spin or drain properly. Fingers crossed when the new bit is fixed it'll all work perfect, (and she's banned from the machine altogether now). Cheers.
If this does not work check the motor brushes (if fitted) are not worn out and you have not accidentally turned the 'child lock' on as this prevents any buttons operating.
eSpares Well, I did it... but it really could do with a video. It wasn't difficult, but taking the thing apart was a nightmare and I did bend the side panel. Had to take off the top, the front panel (which has all the buttons), then the side... SO many screws!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hi Ryad, if you can't get the door open there are a few techniques in this video to help ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-J7vzWGMvfOM.html&t
