In this video we are going to show you how to to change a battery on a Volkswagen Passat. Its important to understand when removing the battery that the Negative pole is disconnected first then positive and when fitting in the new battery the positive battery is fitted on first and negative last. Should be loosening the negative terminal first when taking out the battery and the reverse when putting it back in. i.e. Removing battery: negative then positive. Installing: positive then negative. If you do not do this then you risk the spanner contacting earth when you are messing with the positive while the negative is connected, then you'll see some sparks fly or worse. This is relevant for all cars.
