In this video we’re replacing the fan motor that was running in reverse. This is a step by step guide to replacing a condenser fan motor. Thanks for watching.
Nice job. I always put either cardboard or a piece of carpet on the ground so not to scratch the metal top of the unit. I use either grease or anti-sieze on the top of the motor shaft so the next guy doesn't have a hard time removing the blade. Keep up the great work. I appreciate your videos.
Good video, however, no mention of checking or replacing the capacitor. Sometimes a dead capacitor will make the motor run backwards. Also, I recommend checking the amp draw on the motor. If the amp draw is too high, sometimes the motor is sitting too much into the shroud and will draw higher amps than the rating and may cause premature motor failure.
Nice video, job well done. Question: do those Lennox condensor fan motors not have reversable wiring? I seem to recall some brands have a couple of wires that can be switched to provide reverse rotation.
