I have adjusted the cable on my vintage 1971 Kawasaki Trail Boss 100 (3300 original miles) but it still doesn't disengage the clutch when putting it in gear? Your video mentioned other parts that might need replacing? Any guesses as to my problem? Thanks!
Lubing your cables is good practice and can prolong the life and sliding action. Check out our cable lubes we sell here: www.rockymountainatvmc.com/Sales/834/How-To-Replace-A-Dirt-Bike-Clutch-Cable . I would recommend you pick up some. It's not very expensive.
Mine is on the side like mentioned. Is there a reason behind doing below first, lever last? I ask because that's how you explained. Just wanted to be sure
Adjusting the clutch side first allows you to make bigger adjustments so that you can do your fine tuning on the lever side to get the correct free play and to make future adjustments when components wear.
I'm not sure what you mean but brake and clutch cables are different. We have a video showing how to install brake lines that I'll post a link to below: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-lbaiMiEZq5I.html
I've replaced my cable with a motion pro and routed it In factory position and when bars are to the left no free play bars to the right alot ot free play
I have a old Chinese bike not sure what routing should be done. Was replaced before but porly and I feel like that’s Not the right way to rout it. Clutch still isn’t fitting it’s hot out and I’m grumpy 😅
My clutch cable snapped a few days ago, I’m waiting on a new one but when I pull in the where the clutch cable attaches to it doesn’t actually engage the clutch. Should I be concerned?
Are you talking about the actuating arm that's on the engine? If the clutch worked before the cable broke, it should work again as soon as you get the new cable on. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-9s8FqEBONlk.html -Charles
Castaways_fishing that’s just the clutch being too tight but it is ok, you might want to make it a little more slack, until you can shift it into gear and not stall
I have a question, my clutch hangs freely, like if I pull it in it stays and I have to manually push it out, and the clutch just doesn’t work itself, what could be the problem?
what if the new cable is still too tight on the loosest setting on the adjuster by the engine and by the clutch lever? i bought the same cable for my model bike
@@ghostlystatue7933 I just took out the inner ring by the adjuster by the clutch lever which gave me a few extra mm to work with. Then tightened it all the way then adjusted it by the engine. If that makes any sense
This does not work. I tried it my bike, and it does not turn whatsoever to even get to it and for the break that’s already set up for it. It doesn’t pull out.
Enter your dirt bike's year, make and model on our website to ensure you get the correct clutch cable. Just click the link below, enter your bikes information in the drop down boxes and then all the parts that come up will fit your bike. www.rockymountainatvmc.com/
My new bike came with clutch drag. It seems pretty normal. New plates could get rid of it though. I heard roughing up surfaces of the plain plates helps them hold oil and reduces clutch drag.
That’s what I’m saying EVERY single tutorial I watch at some point has some magic tool or something that you “need” then I gotta figure out a way to do it by myself😂
