Bless you for this! I have zero mechanical skills...don’t laugh!...I consider this “mechanical”. Couldn’t find a darn thing in the owner’s manual about specifically changing this battery or even specifically the type of battery! Another RU-vid video on this topic lasted about five seconds and didn’t tell you which hole to use to pry open the fob. Thanks again! You’ve done a great service here,
Last night I tried to lock my Durango from 10 ft away I panicked when I saw the dashboard with the low battery warning, I thought I was gonna have to buy a new one, great video thanks !!
Thanks for watching and for the positive feedback. You can normally go a few weeks with the low battery light on and be ok. You most likely will get another couple years out of the fresh battery. What trim Durango do you have?

Oh my goodness thank you for this video bro I changed my battery in my remote but turn the battery the wrong way. When I see your video when you turn the positive side down I was amazed. I then open my remote and turn the battery and everything was good 😁. Thanks man

2015 Dodge Charger over here, today was the day I could not start my car because of my dead Key FOB battery. I ignored the warning sign on the dash bc it could still start, but every few days the range from the FOB would go lower and lower till the only way I could open the doors would be directly next to them. This video was helpful, and easy to understand.

Where do you recommend buying the batteries from? I bought them from CVS, they’re like $9 a piece and they only lasted like 8 weeks at the most. It’s annoying.
Good video, have a question my car still starts but doesn’t unlock my doors with the key, does that still mean the battery is bad or something else is wrong? 2012 charger I have.

Hey bud! Just bought a 2015 Dodge Journey SE. The engine will start with the fob in my pocket or hand BUT the doors won't open. Have to press the unlock/lock button on the fob to open the doors. No "Low Battery" warning on the display. Think it's a mechanical issue or should I try replacing the battery? Thanks for the info...
U can correct me if I am wrong but I do t believe the journey has the proximety keyless entry…?! Do the handles on the outside of the vehicle have little black buttons you can push to lock the vehicle?
@@GReviewz Yes they have the little black button. All the YT videos I have watched about the 2105 SE model show they have the keyless entry system. I haven't tried it on the passenger side yet though to see if the keyless works over there. If it does, then I think it's an issue the dealer needs to address. And BTW, the little black button on the drivers door doesn't work but does on the passenger side front door.
Oh yeah car battery is toast. Try hooking your vehicles battery to another vehicle through jumper cables...like your going to jump start it. That should provide enough power to open the door..
Help. Just got a Dodge Journey, love it, but today when I went to start my car, the fob would not unlock the car but, when I got close to the car it auto unlocked, that’s why the model of my car does, anyways I got in and was pressing the unlock and lock button, nothing happened. Then about 2 minutes later it started working. It is not the car battery and it is not the battery in the key fob because I tested it. Same thing happened tonight, it would not lock or unlock until I sat in my car fiddling with it. What could it be? It is not the contact points on the key fob, if it was it wouldn’t stop then continue to work. So what could be the problem?
Thanks for watching. I don’t believe the battery is the problem unless your dash says key fob battery low.. you can always try a new battery just to rule it out.
