Welcome Back to Pellet Tech 101! This video will provide a general overview for replacing the burnpot in a Quadra-Fire Classic Bay 1200i. The Classic Bay 1200 Freestanding, Castile, Castile Insert, Contour, Santa Fe, and Santa Fe Insert will be very similiar. If you have an 800 Nova, 1000, or 1100i with the cast iron burnpot it will be similar as well.

Just found your Chanel. I have a Quadrafire Classic Bay 1200 FS stove 9 yrs old and just started feeding to many pellets at start up otherwise works perfect. Is there an adjustment for this ? thanks great videos.

Thanks for contacting us. Happy to help. During the start-up cycle it is a fixed timing for the auger feed set by the control board. If burning pellets that are shorter in length one may notice more pellets coming in. There is a slide inside the hopper that can be pushed or pulled - this allows micro adjustment for the amount of pellets allowed to enter the auger shaft. Generally speaking in proper operation, the 1200 should drop about 1-2 handfuls of pellets during start-up. How many pellets are coming in? When it lights and goes into normal operation, do you have a nice crisp torchy flame or does it appear to be lazy in anyway? Happy to assist. Thanks.

Great video, is the gasket upside down? 607 Pellet Stove Services, Oneonta, NY

Thanks! Important that the notched area of the gasket is lined up where the thermocouple is placed. As long as that is lined up that is what you are looking for when replacing. Appreciated,

Our pot won't open to drop the ash and clinkers. Any suggestions on how to get it to open again?

@@patriciadavid6127 Thanks for contacting us. It could be an issue with the linkage, porkchop, or heavy build-up. Get a good light and check the simple things first. 1. Get it the burnpot with a good scraping tool - even a wide flat head screwdriver can work well. Break up any hardened build-up in the firepot and unclog any plugged holes. 2. Inspect the linkage. The video here gives a good view on that. Check the cotter pin connection and spring functionality. 3. Inspect the porkchop (Burnpot bottom). It's hinged with a single bolt. Check that bolt; we want it tight for that porkchop to make a good seal to the firepot. Keep us posted, happy to help.

Can you please do a video on removing the igniter from the classic bay 1200 FS. It is different than the Insert model in regards to the removal of the igniter The igniter is around 6 inches, and the stove wall is only 4 inches away from the steel cage the igniter sits in. It's physically impossible to just pull it straight out.

@@WindyMeadows Hi Windy, I pulled up the owners manual for the 1200FS and it shows that for igniter replacement it should slide right out.. Page 33 on the link here downloads.hearthnhome.com/installmanuals/7014_082.pdf. I'm trying to get one of our technicians to physically look at a 1200 and I will let you know of any updates. The specs for the loop igniter is 4-3/8" Length; you really should be able to slide that out of the cradle without hitting the side wall. Here is a more detailed video on the igniter replacement - this is on the 1200i, but it may be helpful. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-U3dFNV77PVA.htmlsi=Git_3bblzBIhIhNK Thanks again.

@@WindyMeadows Hey Windy, just heard back from technical. For the 1200FS you need to pull the igniter out to the left when looking at it. It can only come out from the left side. Disconnect the igniter wires, pull the wingscrew all the way out, and pull the igniter from the left side out of the cradle bracket. Let us know if that works. Thanks!
