This video shows how to troubleshoot and replace a defective switch on recliner sofa or chair switch. This video is specific to Uetmulik Power Recliner Lift Chair Emomo 5 Button 5 Pin Hand Control Model HX90HU Replacement with USB, but the concept is the same for similar switches. Make sure you check the model number of your switch before ordering. In our follow up video, I talk about other potential problems including a blown fuse or bad power supply.

Thank you for doing this video. I was able to find the switch on ebay, cheaper than Amazon. It was the exact replacement, and my recliner is working again!

Glad to hear it helped. I ordered my part from them and watched the tracking as it came from the center of China all the way to my house in southern California. I was worried because I had initially put in the wrong shipping address. But, I emailed them and they fixed it with no hassle and fast too.

I researched & the MOTORS ARE OVER $300 bucks & one TECH said…intricate to install per model of the recliner!!! These sofa & recliners are soooo Expensive lol 😂. Next time, I’ll get an OTTOMAN for DA KING 🤴 LOL 😝. Again, thank you. ( btw, was a computer custom design tech & electronics comes easy for me…it’s called patience & thinking the way machines communicate 😅😂!)

Hello and thanks for helping all us who try to do this at home. Early in your video you show checking the on/off power button on the electric recliner. That is out of service on my sofa-I think-(the light is red when power connected but it doesn't activate the motor) and I need to replace that part-I can't for the life of me find it on the 'net-can you name it for me? I've gotten the actuator motor and the 2 button switch but it still didn't work-it has to be in that plug in piece doesn't it?

Not sure I’m following you. Did you replace the switch that makes the chair recline or no?

yes. I'm calling that piece the "2 button switch", it's the round thing on the side of the couch that makes it go up and down but it didn't work. i also replaced the motor I think its called the actuator. It didn't work- Then I looked at the place on the sofa where you plug the power cord. It will receive a power cord with a red light that shows when the power is switched on. I removed that along with the small black box and the wire that goes out the other end of the small black box and plugs into something that fits it. Anyway all I can do now is replace the third piece I'm calling the power switch (maybe it's a transformer or something I don't know. I have pics of it if that would help but in your video where you say to check if the power is on-THAT's the piece I need to replace-it's the last thing that apparently was affected by the lightening strike that did all this. I have definitely done this the longest and hardest way and it's still not over. @@ThingsEvenICanDo

@@kaynineinterest What kind of chair/sofa do you have? Is there more than one recliner? If so, I would suggest troubleshooting by moving a known functioning transformer (the rectangular box the power feeds into) with the suspected bad unit. Based on how you describe things, it does seem like that is the only thing left to replace. Feel free to send pictures to thingsevenicando@gmail.com It might help me to see what you're dealing with.
