Hi guys and girls
I have finally started the restoration effort on my daily driven 180SX,
it's a genuine 1997 LP2 (Midnight Purple) Type X.
This episode is a "How To" guide on removing and installing the steering rack, as well as changing those worn out bushes. This can be used for all Schassis models (S13, S14, S15, 200sx, 240sx) be sure to drop a like and stay tuned for all the future progress.
My goal is return the car to its OEM specification, or as close as possible, providing my wallet will allow it... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I'm trying to stick with as much genuine Nissan or Nismo products that I can, and only highly reputable brands from Japan.
I plan on doing all the work myself and documenting it on this channel so consider subscribing and maybe tell any of your friends who would love to see this project take shape.

Any tips on reinstalling the steering rack if in the beginning marks were not made for aligning?

Just use a ruler to measure the length of the end of the rack that sticks out when you push/pull at the tie-rod / with the steering column NOT installed / do this for both sides and then divide the result in half, this should be a good starting point / connect the steering column and then you can get a wheel alignment to have any misalignment taken out... eg; If both ends of the rack extended out by 20cm then the middle (which should be wheels pointing straight) will be 10cm.
