How to Replace a Transmission Cooler (2002-2005 Ford Explorer/Mountaineer) 

I'm a 60 year old female first time doing this, didn't know what I was doing but I did it, without removing the fan. I'm watching this video after the fact I already replaced it. I know now how easy how it is to put it back together. I had a hard time doing it different, I also gotten my knuckles and change cut up. And not was I bruised on my arms, but the job got done

Thanks for the video, it's given me some ideas. I'm trying to pull the whole cassette out of an '05 4.6...the long metal trans cooler lines are the issue🙄 Also, thank you for taking the time to remind everyone to be responsible with their old coolant👍

Just finished ✅ replaced the radiator. I removed the lower passenger bolt from the bracket that hold the radiator from the front of the vehicle, just remove the one bolt of the tranny cooler ( passenger side) . Took me 5 hrs . 108 heat index. Greetings from North Texas.

No need to make an incision on the rad support to access the passenger side lower bolt. I removed the other bolts on the rad and moved the rad towards the engine. This gave me the necessary clearance to remove the tranny cooler. Then with the tranny cooler out of the way you have clear access to the lower passenger side rad bolt. BTW, I love your videos on the Ford 4.0 SOHC engine.

What's your opinion on these quick connect trans cooler lines on the 2007 Ford Explorer Sport Track. Leaking. Is there a better aftermarket solution? The cooler is integrated into the main radiator. I'm replacing the Transmission and figure I better fix the leak too. Maybe a future video idea. Smile.

I’m thinking of installing one of these on my 1999 Eddie Bauer 4x4 explorer. As far as I’m aware they don’t have a cooler. I wanna have it live longer and I’ll be towing a small trailer for camping trips. Would I just have to bolt it on in front of the existing radiator?
