Will try to explain since the rubber washer was not something I had to change or have issues with so did not cover it in detail but it looks like it is part of the softener dispenser unit and the grove is where it fit, I assume, to keep liquids from getting into the guts of the machine.
@@mobilehomelife4028 Thanks, when I opened mine up it was layin on top of the piece that holds the dogs so I was confused. I just put it on the softener unit and it fit perfect. Thanks again.
