Thanks for the video. Although I have been changing out batteries for over sixty years I would have never figured out those push pins on the plastic cover. So simple when you know what you are doing. Thanks again!
*TIPS & NOTES:* Before you go out and buy trim removal tools, my 2015 RAV4 XLE 4WD plastic engine bay shroud did _not_ cover the bolt for the battery bracket, thus it _didn't_ require removal. So it depends on year/trim, might even vary within same year and trim (running change?). Also, no need to remove the battery bracket, you can slide the battery out/in while said bracket remains affixed to the wiring harness. I highly recommend buying the battery from Costco, only $78.99.
Thanks for the explanation of those push pin connectors! I found that someone had worked on my car and put in permanent replacement ones on some of them (I say permanent because they had no push pins so I had force them out breaking a few!). So I will be buying those nice push pin types to replace them.
I have a 2018 RAV4 is a memory saver device required? I don't want issues with collision warning, lane departure, and all the other electrical bs they require on cars today.
can you do a video on how to change out the terminals? I'm curious on how to change out the negative side because there is nothing to take apart and switch out.
+Ed Wagemann We don't have a how-to video for your vehicle right now, but the basic steps in this video should be enough to do this task. Buy this part for your vehicle on 1AAuto.com: 1aau.to/m/Shop-1AAuto-c
+Joana Pasillas Thanks for checking us out! The vehicle in the video is a 2010 Toyota Rav4. Please let us know if you have any further questions, thank you!
No matter how many times I read it, see it, and done it I still cannot understand why you would connect the positive terminal on a battery before connecting the negative (grounding) terminal. Before I knew better I did it the other way around and never had a problem. I just do what I've been told, but would love to know the exact why(s) behind it.
+Od Dash We wouldn't be able to diagnose an issue like that here, you may want to have a local mechanic take a look at it. It seems like some electrical connection was knocked loose. Thanks for checking us out! 1aau.to/m/Shop-1AAuto-c
+Mario Alberto Peña Thanks for checking us out! There are several options depending on what you use the vehicle for. A local parts shop or dealership will give you more information on these. You can also check the owners manual for the original batter specs.
This video does not apply to a 2005 RAV4. 2005 is part of the second generation of RAV4's that went from 2001 to 2005. Their battery is near the firewall, on the passenger side, under a cover.
Wait that's not where the battery is located on a 2005 RAV4. Not even close. Change your title not for 2005. The battery is located passenger side under the windshield.
