I ordered this part and have been putting it off until I was sure how to do it. This video is great. Thanks LMR!

Wish this video was around last year when I did mine. Woulda saved me a whole bunch of time with an already lengthy job. One thing I’d add is don’t over tighten the attaching nuts. Too tight can cause the studs to break out of the molding. Over tight will cause the molding to distort. They need to be just tight enough to hold the molding down snug and no more.

Please reproduce the Sunvisors with the brackets for the convertibles! It is a VITAL part of the top latching down and they were always prone to breaking due to the plastic inserts. Lots of people need them and are very hard to find in quality shape and if u do they are a fortune to buy. I'm sure I'm not the only one and you guys would be the only place to have them if you reproduced them.

What size of wrench or socket does it take to remove nuts.

Hey Lmr do you guys sell moldings like these for the new edge convertible models?

Unfortunately, we don't. I would recommend sourcing some decent replacements from a donor car. -Landan

Good video, you can buy the upper well moldings and the lower ones but don't have the rivets needed to attach the lower well molding to the body. Where can I get those, I really need those rivets too.

Code Blue JKU - I apologize for not having the rivets available. I'll forward this to our product team for further evaluation. I would recommend that you determine the size of the rivet by inserting a drill bit into the holes for verification. -Landan

@@latemodelrestorationOK, so no small plastic rivets for the lower well molding, but what about the small metal rivets that attach the weatherstripping to the upper well molding?
@latemodelrestoration
@latemodelrestoration Год назад
@@codebluejku Going back to my previous reply, I misread your comment. I thought you were referring to the quarter belt weatherstrip that attaches to the upper well molding. The quarter belts are riveted to the upper well molding. The lower well moldings are secured to the body of the car with small push pins. The upper well molding passes through the lower well molding and the body and is secured with the small retaining nuts that you see in the video. If you need to reference the lower well molding video, here is the link: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ShJU451Kakk.html

@@latemodelrestoration Yes I was asking about those too those I was able to reuse, but after receiving the upper well molding I noticed it didn't have the outer weatherstripping and needed to be riveted on the new one, so I was wondering what metal rivets where needed to attach the outer weatherstrip,, sorry for the confusion.

What is the paint for the mouldings?
@latemodelrestoration

Jay used some of the SEM exterior black paint for the moldings. Here's a link for all of our paint: lmr.com/products/Mustang-Exterior-Paint#3773
